Hours/Jeremy/Jacomo

There is also a song called Tomorrow is a Long Time

I can't find references to the other characters as yet, but I will keep looking!
Sorry if this ends up as a double post, I have been flicking back & forth through loads of windows!

the other thing then is looking into the names. Is O Jacomo a nick drake lyric?

Yes it is. I think Mary-Jane is too.
Have bookmarks, will go look now!

Toby Litt also likes the Velvet Underground:

Sister Ray, Lisa Says and Sweet Jane (Mary Jane being slang for MariJuana) are all songs that spring to mind.

Joey is also a song by Bob Dylan off the Desire album. Not sure about Betty and Lynn though.

I notice that he is into punning with song names (check out the hospital songs on his MySpace). Not sure if it takes us any further, except that Slice went (Velvet) underground. Rolling Eyes

sums...

going from my earlier sums, and the following posts I have this:

Carroll 1898-1832 = 66
Drake 1974 - 1948 = 26
Frank 1944-1929 = 15

the using the
Quote:
????-???? x 3 relevant

You get
Carroll 198
Drake 78
Frank 45

I'm sure I've seen 198 somewhere...

umm Faustus, can I ask how you got the 2? I'm not brilliant at maths, but I got the 66 and 26 the same.

Anne Frank wrote her diary to "kitty" - could that be Claribella-Pussywillow?

EDIT: speaking of which, I have to log off and feed the cats. I'll be back later to see how everyone's doing.
Thought: are the links to songs etc. names or diary entries or both?

Considering that MJ's diary was "Hello Kitty", I guess we should have worked out the link to her earlier. What else have we missed, I wonder?

Since he gave us the dates anne frank wrote her diary, not her birth and death dates I used those. so 1944 - 1942 is 2.

isn't 0612 her birth date, in 1929?

Yes, chiarac, you are correct. She actually died of typhus sometime between beginning of Feb-end March 1945. Aug 1st is the last absolute date that can be attributed to her before her death, so that's why the date is important.

So the actual dates given are 1929 - 1944 = 15

oh sorry, you were right, I thought the dates were when she started and finished the diary, so i went from there, but they're actually when she was born and when she finished the diary. whoops.

I don't think the "x 3 relevant" means multiply by three though, I think he just meant that there were three sets of relevant dates, relating to three people relevant to his story.

I agree. Though we are in danger of losing sight of the bigger picture. Thanks to Toby, we have found the clues he added to his story, and we have found the clues for all of the other stories, BUT, how do they come together? Where is the link with the card, Temperance? What is it that Alice feels she knows what to do?
Think I'll just go outside to let my head explode!

completely agree, veebee.
I'm not so sure that these new clues from toby litt are directly related to last events on alice' side.

I think we basically have to pass the temperance card on to MA, as alisdairpark suggeted some pages ago. the question is: how? is it possible to move objects from this world to that? maybe if alice thinks about it while looking into the mirror?
moreover, if I understood everything right, we know which cards doom has, but we know nothing about dee, do we? and MA should beat both of the brothers. maybe we could suggest alice to look for dee as she did for doom...

I'm just thinking out loud here, but there could be a connection with Temperance, couldn't there, because SliceQueen was moved away from America so that she could give something up, wasn't she?

Quote:
Oh Ive been a bad girl, a very bad girl, so bad that my sweet mother and brave father have abducted me and moved country (!) to get me away from all those bad influences (hello, bad influences) that turned me from a good girl into a bad girl.

Sorry, just mulling everything over and I'm still not sure whether this story is going to intersect with the seventh... though I agree with keeping focussed on the seventh story.

From morehares:
Quote:
As for the parallel dimension, I am still exploring it. But will report back in due course.

Is that a hint that it's not all over yet?

Hmm, have we thought about the Muses? Dorcas Muse would seem to point us in that direction.

I think Alice makes it clear that she knows what to do with the Temperance card, which clearly means we are not to worry about that part.

I think our job now is to figure out all of the various links, and therefore what the 7th story actually is.

All along we have been given directions, hints of where to turn, what to find out. There has to be a reason why we have been led to Toby's myspace site, I am still wondering about that "scary child's drawing" which looks like it has letters on it to me. I'm sure this is a clue.

We need to pull together everything we know, Everything we suspect, all of our speculations and just do a major brainstorm on this. Everything links to something, we just have to figure out how. I vote that we all do a major post each, outlining our suspicions, theories etc, about the whole ARG, rather than just a portion of it. What do you say?

It's wrap up time!

yeah, I'm inclined to agree, now I've had time to think about it. So 66-26-15, what could that relate to?

I am wondering why Slice's story has an update now, so close to the end. It's been around a month since the last update from that direction.
If Slice, Lyn & Ray are in the mirror world, they could be linked to story 7 somehow.

As for T&I, what can we do? Alice seems to already have an idea:

Quote:
I have the card in front of me. It's Temperance. And on the back is written, in handwriting I haven't seen before: "love is better than power, and synergy than kingship".
We've got to save her, and Thomas. I think I can see what I have to do.

She knows about us, and all the help we've given her. Won't she ask for help again?

Also thinking about Jacques "M'aidez" email. Could something be happening this Thursday?

EDIT:Thank You VeeBee, obviously just cross posted. Quick question, will i have to join Myspace to see "scary child's drawing"?

Maybe this: Lynn is Ann Boleyn, Ray is Henr(a)y VIII and Slice / Lisa is Elizabeth I who got the mirror when John Dee's house was ransacked whilst he was in Prague.

Errmmmmm, then again... Shocked

One explanation for the myspace pointer could be that Toby Litt was frustrated that we didn't get all the kloos in his story and wanted us to find them. I don't really like that explanation.

Hopefully there is more to it and the stories will collide...

Claribella Meaning and Definition

Lynn means

ruddy-complected". The surname is also possibly of Old English and Gaelic origin, meaning "lake", "waterfall" or "pool", and probably would have been given to a family living near such a body of water.

Does that make Lynn a Red Herring? And Ray & Claribella the ones we should focus on?
