Unless there's an inside track that says the postcards are not part of some puzzle, it'd be nice to know what space really got.

I'm suspicious of the "knitting needles", too.

So far, we have 26 known recipients and if all of them got postcards and posters, we can probably assume there are more out there, as people usually order prints in common amounts (25, 30, 50, etc.).

Who's left?

My slight hopes of receiving a parcel were just dashed by the parcel delivery van which drove straight past my place today without stopping.

btw I keep misreading the url as "find the lost string"; I'm probably being influenced by the balls of wool everyone is getting. I'm looking forward to the site launching properly.

I thought that spacebass had pictures over at www.despoiler.org

Thanks! Very Happy

ETA: Still don't know what postcards space got, though.

ETA2: NM. I'm not a big blog reader. Found them.

maybe not thelo string.. but really is the lost ring.

like the sixth ring that "fell off" the olympic ring symbol.... the one for the antarctic continent. or the one that was supposed to be one of the Americas (because the designer of this symbol lumped both N and S America into "one ring", instead of giving each its own ring.)

I wonder if the olympic committee endorsed the use of the poster/symbol.... hmmm seems the mysterious ms. jane is the type to cross all her Ts and dot all her Is, so i'm betting thats not a problem. Still though.... gotta wonder.

I don't know, but that site www.ilikestring.com strikes me as odd, in the sense that it could be from an IG character. Seeing those pictures in that site gave me the sensation that later on in the game all those who received the packages are suppose to knitt something.

I feel very certain that vpisteve is just messin' with us. He's jealous because he didn't get a box and is our first official gamejack attempt! Shifty Eyes

No, that would be Spacely's MAXIM ARGjack attempt.

And I'm not jealous of your yarn.

I'll be in my trailer.

*sniff*

flag, rings, theft

I was more or less randomly Googling and found this page that talks about a proposal made to the International Olympic Comittee a while back to amend the Olympic flag by adding a sixth ring:

EDIT: Hmm, the forum is not correctly rendering that url because of the @! in there... :|

Also on that page are a few anecdotes regarding a missing Olympic flag from 1920. Specifically, the theft of an Olympic flag at the 1920 Antwerp games, with a reference to this NYTimes obituary for Hal Haig Prieste (bronze medal in platform diving at the 1920 Games), who, apparently on a dare from Duke Kahanamoku (gold medal 100m swimming), climbed a flagpole and snatched a flag.

:trout: Already mentioned by enaxor, I'm told.

Hmm. Might go along with HitsHerMark's fortune - "You will soon hear an unusual confession."

"You will soon write an amazing story"

Back of it says "You will soon discover an alternate reality. The adventure begins when you meet Ariadne. www.findthelostring.com"

I think the IOC did more than endorse the use - I think they're the client for this ARG.

Edited the wiki to add my contributions as well.

Please, someone who has a cat and received a box, for the love of unFiction, make us a lolcat with that (see above) caption!
