Markus says: "Also ich würde schon sagen das ich Athletisch bin, ich bin Stark und werde nie müde, ich habe immer Energie. Das ist alles irgendwie zu komisch."

Translation: "I would say, that I'm an athletic guy, I'm strong and don't get tired, I've always energy. That's all strange."

He fits "the profile", I would say.

wiki is showing fifth, Nanashino Noriko, which we don't have a link for on this thread. Can anyone point us to that one?

We now have a person in Europe (Germany?), Asia (Korea), South America (Argentina), and Ariadne, who might be from North America or Africa. I'll spec that we'll find a fifth person who fits that last continent. Or that person will be missing, and we need to find that "lost ring".

To be clear, there is the Korean woman and also the Japanese woman. So we're up to five now, but given the six goggles thing, I'm sure there will be one more.

P.S. I've been passing along these links to Ariadne, hope that's cool with everyone. I always seem to miss out on the character interactions in ARGs so I'm trying to get on the ball with this one. I'll let you guys know if she says anything interesting.

Have we been passing these along through comments only? She did give us an email address, didn't she?

Swimming outfit

You can access the seemingly restricted portions of the ariadne blog by clicking on the tags. That will pull up the articles that otherwise ask for a password.

The goggles and outfit ariadne wore when she woke up seem to be for an Olympic swimmer from 1920. http://www.findthelostring.com/ariadne/detail.do?postId=1024

I can't tell which country the swimming outfit is associated with since it's just plain white with blue (or black) piping.

I would say that Ariadne's peak physical condition is due to her training as an Olympic swimmer. Why she woke up with a swimming outfit from almost 90 years ago is anyone's guess.

I just got a private message from Markus Mystery on Flickr.

Markus Mystery wrote:

Kennen sie mich vielleicht? Komme ich Ihnen bekannt vor? Und wie wissen sie das es Esperanto ist das an meinem Arm tätowiert ist?!

Many thanks for your help. They are the first person to me anyhow could help...

Do they know me maybe? Do I seem to you famously? And how do they know Esperanto is in my arm is tattooed?!

My response

Quote:
My friends and I are amature detectives. We like to help people. One of my friends found http: // www.findthelostring.com website, and we decided to look into it. It was the video on this side that said what the tattoo meant.

I am sorry. I do not recognize you. But I would like to help you!

Can you point us to a picture of a 1920s competition swimsuit?
Reasonable speculation, but I'm a little skeptical that a one-shoulder swimsuit is competition equipment or even modest enough for the period.
I can only find this picture of a diver, Aileen Riggen, from the 1920 Antwerp, as an example of period women's competition swimwear.
http://www.olympic.org/uk/utilities/multimedia/gallery/results_uk.asp?entid=3733&LinkName=RIGGIN,+Aileen&MediaType=pic
But please, do share any pictures you have of women's swimwear.

She has an awful lot of hair for an Olympic swimmer. Yes, swimmers can wear caps, but it's my impression from previous olympic swimmers, that if she were really that competitive, she'd keep it shorter to reduce the weight/drag.

okay, so Esperanto is an artificially created "universal language."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanto

that's the language the tattoo is written in. Here's a link to the online translator:

Edit - TinyURL'd the way-long link - C
