Yeah.. thanks.. I looked several times for a transcript, because I knew someone did the first video, but for the life of me I couldn't find the second one.. I don't think I went back enough pages.. Too bad, would have saved me a lot of cut/paste time if I'd actually found it..

It appears that both podcasts now have Japanese translations, so Noriko should be informed Smile
http://dotsub.com/home/user/index.php?target=5916 (Additionally, dotsub can make it really easy for anyone to add translation to podcasts, although in our case, Eli's podcasts do not allow us this.)

Pallada Quote

demetrios tablet

Demetrios tablet reads:
For Demetrios
the one that won the game of truth
the year 350

My first thought is "what does the year 350 mean?" the ancient Greeks could not be referring to 350 BCE, because that Roman Calendar had not been invented yet. It seems there was not a common calendar method across Greece.

I found this interesting but not decisive:
Quote:
The historian Timaeus (c. 346 - c. 250 BCE) devised the system of numbering from the first Olympiad, 776 BCE, but this was never generally used.

A nice discussion of Ancient Greek Calendars can be found here http://www.polysyllabic.com/?q=calhistory/earlier/greek

EDIT: Seems above webpage is down - can navigate to it by http://www.polysyllabic.com

ABOUT THE PLAQUES

I believe there is some kind of connection between Demetros conquering Greece in 4 century b.c. (350 b.c.) and the plaques.

I believe that we have to focus on the Macedonians.

Just my thought.

websites that may help!

so I´ve been looking in Eli`s page and let me tell you...I found some very interesting links,
I recommend the first link
http://www.theantikas.org/c18.html

and then this one
http://www.mlahanas.de/Greeks/LX/Hellanodikai.html

they all are from the Hellanodikai or as we know them, the Agonothetai.
if you pay attention to the first name the las three letters are Kai, we do have a kai between the lost ones dont we?
I also recommend this one
http://www.museum.upenn.edu/new/olympics/olympicintro.shtml

hope it helps[/quote]

I informed Noriko, she is just now watching the second podcast right now.
Wonder, what she'll say.

P.S. At the moment I said to Noriko to beware of contact with Eli Hunt.

Interesting, since the URL of Ariadne's blog is like
http://www.findthelostring.com/ariadne/home.do
could it be, we'll have blogs of another people like
www.findthelostring.com/(name of the 6)/home.do ?

No, I don't think so. The others are already there change the last number. Markus is in the 1100s, the others are pre 1099.

Another interesting piece is that on some of the pages a password box pops up.

How'd you track this down, are there links from the main page somewhere that I'm missing?

Or were you just URL surfing/modifying?

I also sent her a google translated copy of the English version. She replied telling me she's seen that Japanese was added to the podcasts, and seems to be questioning is she is one of the six.
