Ariock is SMRT and an odd fellow himself.

I'm not sure about this line of thought...

The Oddfellows are a real, longstanding institution that remind me of the freemasons. Would an Oddfellows branch really be involved? Unless of course they created an extensive Wikipedia page. Although, why wouldn't such an organization not have a wiki entry until June of 2007?

Hello from Germany!

I finally found time to join you. I know Vlad from Germany and maybe some other players. I speak German, French and English and maybe I can help you a bit.

For the Cardiff event: If it was on friday it could be with 'Lady Bute' ("meet every other Friday at 7.30pm"), but as Eli talks about weekend he might think about Sat or Sun. But in any case we could maybe get the 'Branch Newsletter' from these oddfellows. Email is mary.sparksSPLAToddfellows.co.uk

I HATE NOT BEING ABLE TO EDIT MY POSTS!

I can't edit my posts because i can't login to my screenname...

I meant to say that it seems odd that the Oddfellows didn't have a wikipedia entry until so recently, but they seem to be a legit organization. I was wondering if anyone can confirm that they do indeed exist?

They do exist, but I'm fairly sure that the lecture this weekend is a fictional event. These sort of in-game occasions are pretty standard in games like this; these things are happening for the characters in their story universe, but not necessarily in our real world.

Ah, ok. So no worries about copyright issues?

Although I instantly thought about the Oddfellows Society, I too am wary about this line of enquiry. As has been mentioned, it is a real society, and I'd hate to think that they got dragged into this and had dozens of emails sent to them when they're not involved.

Just my opinion, but I'd suggest we tread gently with this so as not to annoy (what I feel are probably) innocent and unconnected people.

Oh, and AgnosticTheocrat, you might find this post helpful in solving your account log-in problems.

I know the Oddfellows lodge in my little town is like 100 years old.
They're the ones with the "IOOF" over the door (Independent Order Of Odd Fellows).

Sounds to me like Eli is into creating forgeries of antiquities. Just a guess.

I'm not sure about this... While Pyron's shard is obviously not real, i think it's supposed to be real in this case. Same with the cave.

However, he is an amateur historian. So he doesn't exactly have credentials. We certainly need to be leery of him, and his motives. However, it seems clear to me that he's tied up in something besides forgeries. Why would he be hiding info about the "lost ring" if he's into forgery? Wouldn't he want to publicize things, to sell them or profit off of them?

Mei Hui is Sofia

Don't know if this has been posted, but Mei Hui has a new video up:

I can't understand a bit of Mandarin, but at about 2'16'' she says something about sofia696, so she is wisdom after all...

Trout myself.... oof

I started reading this thread thinking "Oh, it's only been on for like a week, how long can it be?"

Good GODS was I wrong. I don't know any useful languages, but I can create wild speculation with the best of them and would like to help out with the wiki, making it 'prettier' (timeline page is broken, at least in my browser - see the discussion page) and more complete while waiting for the 11th. I don't know all the code tricks of the trade, but I know enough to follow preexisting formats.

Looking forward to working with you all!

You're not the only one! I won't be too helpful on the language front, though I've got a fluent spanish speaker in the house I can snag. Now I just need to wrap my head around the last 58 pages of posts I just read. Wow.

Adding the most recent post to the wiki... I don't have the RSS feed, so someone else will have to edit the comments with that info.
