#unfiction chat channel status

We continue to have problems with griefers in IRC, so the channel is temporarily keyed again. To get in, use the key wankers.

Sorry for the hassle. Hopefully the children will get bored and leave us alone soon.

And once again we are keyed (Saturday, November 24, 2007 ~ 10:30 PM Eastern) ... same key as above.

And again (Sunday 11/25 7pm-ish). The key will remain in place for the rest of the weekend (and maybe longer if we can't keep the bots out.)

Chat-solutions.org is apparently down.
http://irc.netsplit.de/networks/details.php?net=Chat-Solutions&submenu=days

I'm told it's a DNS issue and that folks are getting in using IP Address 72.20.42.120 as the server. That's not working for me, though.

I'm still online, which would support the diagnosis that it's a DNS problem and not the servers themselves being down.

Try connecting to 209.133.11.183 which is the IP for Stardust.

I don't mean to be out of line, but if you're having that many problems with your current IRC network perhaps you should use a different one?

I'm a network administrator of one, and we'd be happy to host your rooms. If there are people who evade your bans or flood your room with bots, network operators are always online to ban them from the network.

I won't mention the name of the network here because I don't want to spam it, but if you're at all interested don't hesitate to PM me.

I am in no way in charge of the unfiction IRC chat, so don't take this as anything official.

For the most part, we don't have many problems with the current setup. Occasionally things come up, but no more than most of the other IRC networks I go on.

Plus, our existence on chat-solutions is pretty entrenched.

Between those things, it would suprise me if we moved...unless the Unfiction admin/mod crew has been fighting a sekrit rear-guard war against some evil army of IRC glitches out to kill us all, jumpstart the coming robot revolution, and set ARGbot up as eminent ruler of all of the intarwubs.

I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords. If you plan to smite the puny humans, my one request is that you do so in reverse alphabetical order by first name. Thank you, kind and benevolent digital masters. Worshippy Foily!

But in any case, thanks for your offer, it's very kind of you! I'm quite certain that if the powers that be (or those robots who have replaced the powers that be) deem it neccessary, you will soon be contacted to disucss this IRC networkingness.

Hey, can you hand me that EMP? Thanks.
