 you rock

Wow, Night! Rock On This was truly an amazing story. A nice change of pace. The puzzles were original and unique. I think I speak for all of us when I say, We are looking forward to and can hardly wait for the day that Joshua awakes. And Thanks for the cube.

Oh, and this story inspired me to make my current avatar. Can I keep it?

Definitely enjoyed the change of pace with the puzzles. The last round reminded me of the good ol' I Love Bees days.

Not seeing any mention of it on this forum, I couldn't stop laughing when I got that. Well played. Wink

This was my first real ARG, and it was a blast. Thanks, Nighthawk! Sorry to see it go, but it was amazing that you kept all of that moving on your own.

(I almost got into big trouble following the last leg of this...there I was, sitting in class, trying to email Jackie and keep track of the stuff happening on the websites on an iPod, and avoid getting caught. Oops!)

This was my first ARG too. Absolutely amazing. It was hard keeping up with you guys near the end, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

My sentiments exactly. Thanks for the crazy ride. Very Happy

I am kicking myself for not mentioning the later webcam image though. I remember checking the cam, seeing the overlay, going to the forums to post about it only to realize I had missed 10 pages of stuff and just assuming that it was old news... Embarassed

Once again, awesome job!

Wow...that was you?! Worshippy

I gott say: Congrats on what has truly been an incredible ARG. This was, in fact, my very first "true" ARG, and I enjoyed every second of it. You made all the characters seem so real. I actually felt like Joshua was a real personality, and I was emotionally attached to what happened to him.

Bravo, sir. You are far more creative than I could ever be...and I hope to see Joshua again in the future. I miss him already... Crying or Very sad

Wow

Nighthawk,

Worshippy Worshippy Worshippy

This was awesome. I had aleady figured that some of the blog posts were pre-timed, that a lot of this was in the can when you started, but I seriously thought that there were 3-4 people doing this. First there was a LOT of material coming down the pike really fast, second, you did a great job w/ the role playing. My first two ARGs turn out to be solo jobs. Go figure.

One of the (many) things I really liked about this was that it kept resisting product tie-in. For me, it would have sucked a bit for this to be movie promotion or whatever. It wouldn't have taken away from the experience, but would have been a let down.

I think this says a lot of really positive things about ARG as art. When PO ended I asked how much it cost, and it was $2-300, which is manageable for a small group or even an individual. Hell, my airbrush set me back a couple bills and I just use that for goofing around. When you can create something this involving without cost being a major issue I think it says a lot of good things about the future of ARG/CF.

You are obviously a tech wizard, but you are also a damn fine role-player. I loved that Ivan was a total misfit in the crew and for such a geek so incredibly klooless. And Joshua... As I said in a previous post, I found it fascinating that we got to see this hidden personality develop via his blog. Nice touch that. The other really fascinating thing about Josh was that it was so easy to think of him as human, then you'd remember, no he's just a computer. And then you'd remember, it's just a game, people are generating this. So the anthropomorphizing became compumorphizing or whatever the word is for giving the characteristics of a computer to a person. But the layering was wonderful.

The pace was just intense, and the puzzles interesting. There was one day that I was so involved that I just flat out missed one of my classes...that I teach. This has NEVER happened to me before for any reason. My students thank you Very Happy

This has been one hell of a ride. Thank you very much. Count me in for any future developments, and sorry about myway deciding, for no apparent reason to start spam blocking you. At least I finally got around to getting on gmail...

=========================

Fellow Betas,

I think I said somewhere earlier that what I really love about ARGs is that you get to learn a bunch of neat stuff and work with some incredibly smart people. I think that was especially true here. If this was your first ARG you'll have some high standards in the future. Or I know I will anyway. I shouldn't mention names, because I'll leave someone out, and because it's really about community anyway. But... ah hell, feel free to flame me. Goodness knows I've deserved it more than once. Chrome, Nim, tabster, Albatross, naxan, MMuffin, Fitch ... Good work. Worshippy

natas>> Thank you for the wiki, and all your other interaction, esp. w/ Catherine. If you folks haven't tried to do edits on that thing you have no idea how good a job he did. You still my favorite curmudgeon.

Toasty>> You frickin rock. I had so much fun working the codes (and other puzzles) with you.

Rogi, Lost, teh_lisa, Bidvision, feriwiccan, Sylvia, Kane, and everyone else I missed, Thank you for a great ARG. Again, it's all about community.

MaxSteele>> Sorry about the trout. Didn't really deserve it. gimme flounder!

Thank you all for a great experience, and for putting up with these long-winded, over-edited posts. I'm gonna go cry now. Oh, don't tell Nighthawk, but some of our solves were better than his puzzles. Very Happy

I ain't no leak, mister! Laughing

Great game, really really enjoyed that. I'm gutted that I was in bed asleep when the big endgame went down, but I suppose a lot of these things are going to happen in USA time, so I'm not complaining.

Someone else already said this, but I was really impressed that only one person did all this. The characters were all rich and different, and Joshua's responses were superb. Big applause from me!
