Well, that's it! Game Over!

Congratulations, Joshua

On behalf of everyone at Looking Glass Laboratories, I would like to congratulate Joshua on his miraculous accomplishment in the Central Florida competition. You have made us all proud beyond imagination.

I have been in contact with numerous companies that were amazed at your ability and skill. There are many wonderful possibilities in the future for Joshua and Looking Glass Laboratories, and we will continue to be at the forefront of technology for generations to come.

I would like to once again thank the Beta Testers for their assistance and support; without them, Joshua would not be what he is today.

Thank you for your support.

That's Vitruvian Man - he's been there for a day or so now. Guess we need to update the wiki at some point.

Doh! *headdesk* I thought I was so helpful and lucky too. Oh, well.

Nah, no biggie. It was mentioned maybe once and I don't think the picture was ever posted here, just a link to a version stashed in a Photobucket account or some such.

BTW, I wasn't available to make it to the post office to get my package tonight, but the ticket the postman left confirms it is from Happitec. Smile

I've been lurking on this game as I haven't had much time to try and help ceack anything and it seems like things are already figured out before I get here anyhow. My question is, I have a package waiting for me at the post office like many of you guys with postage due, is this common in an ARG for them to send something postage due? Also could the amount be a clue since I have seen at least one person say they owe $3.25 which is what I owe as well? Thanks and I hope I can help out eventually. I am also willing to use my questions be used by others to get more questions asked sooner.

The only real reason I mentioned the postage due on the package at the P.O. is that in the Infocom Bureaucracy game, several of the 21 total points you can acquire are obtained by looking at the stamp on an envelope.

But my post prompted a representative for the PM team to contact me about it.
Insufficient postage on the packages wasn't intentional. Probably just due to differences in weights for some of the packages. (On mine, it looks like the PO quoted them the <1lb rate and then treated it as a 1lb package once it was in the system.).

There are several going out and they're all identical. No more information is available in any of the other packages than we have already.

They wanted me to let the players know that if your package should arrive "postage due" and you don't want to pay the additional postage, just tell the Post Office you aren't willing to pay the amount due. They'll return it to the sender.

Two and a half years around here and my only ARG swag is my cherished hair ribbon from Orbital Colony. I'll gladly pick up the additional postage. Very Happy

Just received the same info as Rogi. Rather ironic given the Bureaucracy reference. Smile Simple mixup which doesn't matter to me, I still want my swag!

I'm adding this to my one deaddrop of a box of rocks (with a note) from Findings Cedar Rapids.

New site "feature"!

Anyways, I haven't gotten anything in the mail, but I've also been fighting the post office, going in every week because they keep stopping my mail and putting in a vacant slip in my mail box, telling the delivery guy to not put anything in. So I donno. Hope I get something, though admittedly, I've gotten more swag than rogi (a mask AND some rocks).

I've also been trying different combinations of the scrabble tiles for passwords here and authorization codes here using XTER001WRB as the username and my own email as the email respectively.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Using XTER001WRB as the username as it's roughly the same formatting as my own Beta account BETA00#### though I'm assuming the difference is intentional, with 1WRB standing for 1 White RaBbit and possibly XTER meaning "extra"?

Code:
J3 P8 S4 E3 E5 K2         (Scrabble tile)
6J 2P 1T 3B 5E 4K         (Filename)
6  2  1  3  5  4          (Order posted by joshua)

S4P8E3K2E5J3

No luck yet. Tomorrow I figure on trying the same, only mirrored.

I'm thinking that Dwayne has the authorization code, though.

Well...I'm gone for 2 days, and we get an additional 20+ pages! Wow.

Seems Joshua's been a busy boy. Between the media analysis, the Q&A, and the Chess Tourney, he's kept quite busy...except for the one day he was all by his lonesome.

Poor Joshua, all lonely in there Sad

So, people have started to receive some swag, huh? This is only the 2nd ARG I've ever been a part of...how would I go about receiving said swag? I'm already registered as a Beta tester, and have been registered with LGlabs since before the ARG even took off. Is it random who they send it out to? I imagine an ARG isn't going to attract THAT many people, right? I always imagined most low-key ARGs like this one to have only a few hundred, or, at most, a few thousand members.

I want a Rubik's Cube... Confused

The login pages

Hy
Since this is my first ARG, just asking: is it OK for others to try going in to that login web page, or that's kinda rude for those who found it with hard work?
And after the entry is found, going in?
And some thing:
XTER001WRB
this looks like, if it would be one of a series:
XTER002, 003...
And the whole thing is like an infogame thing.

Of course. Try your luck/ideas. Think about how many people worked on just this one little bit. barizanz found the clue to look into the flash files and solved the first anagram. Also found the first tile.jpeg, though I think MrToasty pulled it out of the flash file about the same time. Five tiles later (luck of the draw who found em) and MrToasty puts JPSEEK together. Tabster pulls the bunny out of Johua's pic after agentNim put him onto it. A couple people noticed the binary, but again, Toasty put it through the decoder. (Helps to know where the tools are) and agentNim found the site based (I'm guessing) on speculation that we'd get to a new site / branch of LGL that had been floating in various forms since Josh started sending emails. feriwiccan first mentioned that the letters/values didn't match, which was the decrypt code for the bunny/binary. If I miscredited or left someone out please forgive me...There's about 20 pages from start to here on this one and I didn't even try to look at all of them

Point? It's a cooperative venture. If you get anything, please share, even if it doesn't work, like Citizen Kane's post above. Keeps people from heading down blind alleys.

There are lots of things to like about ARGs, the puzzles, the swag Cool , etc., but my two favorite things are working with some really smart people on a joint project and learning all kinds of interesting stuff.

And yes, the XTER001WRB sure looks like a sequence to me too. First thing I tried was seeing if there was a /XTER002WRB webpage Very Happy

Ahoy. This is my first ARG. Been lurking in these forums since the start. Anyways, I'd been trying to get whatever info Dwayne has out of him and got this email;

Quote:
From: Deacon Snow
To: Noodle

I'm a friend of Dwayne's; I got your email address off him (OK, I got it off his desk scribbles; sue me).

My name's Deacon, or "Deek" as I'm called 'round these parts; I was with him in Daytona. He's kinda freaking out and panickin, thinking he's gonna go to jail or some wacko's going to ice him.

What is this all about? Dwayne doesn't want to hear any more of it. I'm afraid I'm going to walk in to his house some day and he's going to lock himself in his own closet. Who is this guy and what does he want, and what does this have to do with Daytona Beach?

I'm from Los Angeles and am an activist there; I know some people, maybe I can pull some strings to either help this guy out or get him to stop, but I need to know what's going on before Dwayne has a psychotic break, flips out and beats the next person he sees with a bat.

Any help would be appreciated.

-D

So, carried the conversation on with Deacon and it's looking good; he says he'll have a crack at getting the info out of Dwayne tomorrow. I'll keep you all posted.

Finally...

Got the wiki caught up including a list of everyone's submissions, so we don't give him the same pieces to review, and also a Q&A summary, by date, so we can avoid asking the same questions.

If you guys see anything left out, feel free to add it. Thanks.
