Haha, I just got asked a thousand questions. The last one, and his reply to my answer, made me chuckle.

You: WHO IS ALICE?
JoshuaBot: Alice is the main character of the story Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and the sequel Through the Looking Glass and what Alice Found There. She is a seven-year-old English girl with lots of imagination and is fond of showing off her knowledge. Alice is polite, well raised and interested in others, although she sometimes makes the wrong remarks and upsets the creatures in Wonderland. She is easily put off by abruptness and rudeness of others. The character of Alice is based on a real girl, called Alice Liddell, who was one of the author's child-friends.

Full financial investigation
Posted on 3/15/2008 11:19

We are going to perform a full financial audit of all Looking Glass Laboratories accounting. Apparently someone with access to our internal financial records has used our name and our accounts to order toys from a local distributor without prior authorization from the Accounting department.

The amount spent on this fraudulent shipment was in excess of $300, which constitutes grand larceny in the state of Florida and punishable by fines and imprisonment.

We are in contact with this distributor and are attempting to gather more information on these orders, who made them and where they went.

We continue to ask the Beta Testers that if you have any additional information that may assist us in this investigation, please contact us immediately. If you are in fear of retaliation of investigation, you may contact me anonymously at my email address, cbelmontSPLATlglabs.net.

Looking Glass Laboratories will not stand being taken advantage of by people seeking to destroy what we have spent so much time building. We will use everything within our power to bring whoever is responsible to justice.

So, at some point we are going to be faced with letting LGL know more about all of the info we have. I think we obviously don't want them to know about our secret dealings with Joshua, at least not until it becomes an obvious necessity. However, do we go the double agent route and feed Belmont some info and see where that leads? If so, when and who wants to be the sneak?

Who sent the cubes?

As much as I dislike the suits at LGL (I'm still waiting for my apology) I'm not sure I like/trust Deek either. Or Joshua for that matter. (Who I like, but don't really trust yet)

I can offer myself up if it's decided that we should go the double agent route. In my emails and posts to the blogs I've been generally supportive of the staff, expressing concern over their well being and the like. Me going "rogue" could just be a continuation of my "character." As well, I can blame any lengthy pauses in discussion on a wide variety of things while we discuss how I should respond to them.

Subject: Re: Cross the Doorway

No. Who is this "Brenda"?

The first half is complete. You must look deeper for the remainder.

Sent back:

Brenda is a character from the movie "Friday the 13th." She says "We're going to play Strip Monopoly. I'll be the shoe."

1. Queen to King's Level One
2. Neo
3. No one wants to be the shoe
4. Abracadabra

edit
Magic word: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_word

I'm liking "Now!" Smile

My reply read:

You are but halfway there. What hope is there for me?

So, looks as though only the first half is correct. Time to try some variants.

I entered the same as pancito, except that I tried 'abracadabra' instead of 'please'. Given the replies, it would seem that neither is correct, and nor is 'Brenda'.

3. No one
4. Please

That's what I just sent. I know #4 is probably wrong, but this way we can see if #3 is right. If I get a 75% of the way there, or something like that, we know that #3 is nobody.

This should be pop culture / computer stuff right? Which is why I was liking 'Brenda'
Magic word=Infocom somehow?

edit:
Someone try "Tank Girl"
"not if its Monopoly cause I kick ass at that game. Well, okay, but I get to be the shoe."

I've just tried 'xyzzy', the magic word from 'Adventure' the original text adventure.

Quote:
You: WHAT IS THE MAGIC WORD?
JoshuaBot: It takes you from one place to another.

Xyzzy does indeed move you from one place to another.

EDIT: Ah, I was right.

One more to get.
