Holy crap, that was interesting...

Bryan, that helped immensely! I ran it through I don't know how many filters (channel merges, stereo to mono back to stereo, etc...). If you ask me to repeat what I did, I can't. But I got the attached file.

As far as I can tell, the morese translates to...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
justin dot baley at gmail dot com is where it starts

Someone please confirm that I got that right...

Let's see where this goes. Smile

JUSTIN DOT BALEY AT GMAIL DOT COM IS WHERE IT STARTS

EDIT: Crap, same time!

FYI, I used the original, inverted and subtracted. Usually I try to isolate the audio in the 600-800 Hz range, as the morse we mostly see is around 700Hz, but it was still hard here.

Please tell me your solution involved some really complex manipulation in a sound editor, 'cause I would feel rather dumb if it was that easy for you. Wink

Edited above. No worries, Night, I'm not that good at hearing morse. Wink It's much easier to see the waveform and decode from there.

I just discovered CwGet last week, and it's great for finding and transcribing morse code in sound and live audio... check it, store it, use it Smile

Wow, nice progression guys!

I was trying to do the same thing you guys were in Audacity, but I guess I wasn't trying the right things. High Pass and Low Pass were bust.. how'd you guys do it, if you don't mind my asking?

And was that all the samples of morse that you translated? I remember hearing several chunks throughout the song.

Anyways, good job again, let's see where this leads.

Next step...

Quote:
Good job.
You were a right choice.
Here is your next test.
Email me the number you find and your 3rd test will begin.
The number is on lah2.

Good Luck.

"lah" and "lah2" came in the first email.

Immediately thereafter, another message

Quote:
Sorry. You wont see anything on lah 2.
Modified.Just a little easier on the eye than the first Wink.

...which included "lah3".

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I'm going to assume "lah3" was included so that it's a direct match, words included, to "lah2".

putting "lah3" on top of "lah2" and inverting it, I get something that looks like "email... the number 4". I could be wrong on that.

This guy's testing all my digital capabilities, ain't he? Betcha the next one's a video... Wink

Sorry, wasn't clear...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Based on the first puzzle, we got the email address "justin.baley@gmail.com". I sent him the following message:

I got your email from an anonymous source... It's a long story and
mayhaps you wouldn't believe me.

Suffice to say, it took a lot to get your email address. A keen ear, I
should say. Does "DATAARK" ring a bell?

If you're the wrong person, sorry. But if you do know what I'm talking
about, answer back.

...and he responded back with the message and images above.

*EDIT*
And, apparently, I'm wrong. Confused

The answer's apparently not what I said.

Quote:
Close.
Although.Dont email it to me.
The number is bigger. 1 digit
Would you like to use a wish?
If you do it would give you the answer.
But you have to solve another puzzle.

"...use a wish"?!?

Anyone else wanna look at this? Am I the only one getting these emails?

I have sent 2 emails, without a reply.

I think you might be the only one receiving these emails.

Edited to clarify my post.

Post exactly what you see and where you see it. I see 'mail' or 'mall' with smudge before it in the first block (most likely 'email'). I can't make out the second or third block, but I do believe I see 'the number 4' stacked in the fourth. I can at least see 'e' and 'mber' clear enough.

Great... Well someone else look at this for a bit. I'm busy preventing Armageddon in PO and looking for some guy in West Palm Beach. **sigh...**
