Ok I just got the video back up and running. [Im assuming time's running EST as it's now noon and it was back up?]

I analysed the video best I could and made out WHAT I was able to from it... Some words I've put [something] to cover because I just couldn't make them out... Sorry guys. Now first you'll get the image I've uploaded which has the same picture for Subspot as I posted on the previous page; and then it'll say "Begin Broadcast" or something like that and as I said you have the woman from the very first countdown page and this is what she says on the video.

Quote:
I'm not sure how long I've got, I've only got one battery left but... I wanted to see you. Say goodbye. So, mum... Dad... If you see this. Come and find me! Please... Just, come make it better I don't know where else to go. I was just hoping [something something] Stop myself from going mad.

This isn't how it's supposed to be... Everything's gone wrong. the [something] people, everything... This is, [something] is backwards, it's hell... It's my own hell...

I tried to save what I could but... There's nothing left to save. But I've still got the/a key and there isn't...

It then cuts out and we see what appears to be the video of a "flag" waving with some kind of anthem-ish type music I can't remember the one but it's like "dun dun da dun da dun-dun-dun... Dun da dun dun-dun da dun" LMAO.

Also throughout the 'end' parts of her video it flashes up red w/ something which I've not been able to make out hopefully someone else can check this cos there could be some vital sh!t on that...

I'm assuming you only get to see the video once and other things a set amount of times before you're unable to see the site again for a bit; which is kinda neat, but irritating! lol

And I've now been given the "SubNET Access Failed" screen again. Sad

Edit: It's also interesting to notice that on that image for the subspot it says "Location: SE6A" - Could Sega be behind this? - Someone over @ Kontraband mentioned that also.

Hm, maybe it has to do with using too much bandwidth? This time the page took forever to load, then finally went to the "You need flash" message. I'm not sure if it matters but it's 1pm est time not noon because of daylight savings.

It used to be around that time but last year they moved daylight savings up a few weeks. We just started it Saturday night/Sunday morning. It sucks because my clock adjusts itself for DST but now its always a few weeks late.

did anyone find out WHERE this website is hosted/linked from originally? if it's a UK site, then maybe that is why we, americans, are having trouble viewing the video...dunno...just a thought.
and, if all of this was supposed to be some new online game/arg, then why does it make it so hard for people to actually investigate the information? i really am beginning to think that this is an advert for something, like a game or movie,, but the "makers" are having technical difficulty with their website now. it makes a lot of sense, especially if they planned on a viral movie/game being leaked to spur interest in it...but they got more than they could handle??...i'm second guessing myself a lot here....i want to see this new info so bad i took my laptop to work so i could access this forum..
if this isn't something totally awesome, i'm never using the internet again...

D'oh!

I have been anxious to see what would come up when the timer hit zero, and now I'm stuck with the page telling me I need to install Flash 9, which I already have. ARGH!!!

fuz, you appear to have guessed correctly. The site is blocking access to anyone outside the UK (based on their IP address). I'm in Canada, and have been getting the same "you need Flash 9" message that alot of people are getting. I was finally able to access the site via a proxy service (http://www.freeanonymousproxy.net/) which is located in the UK. (Uncheck the "Remove scripts" option).

The problem appears to stem from the fact that the geoblocking isn't working correctly. If you view the source of the page you see it trying to load a flash file called "interface/Problem/Geoblock.swf", but if you try to get it you get a 403 - access denied message. So I presume that those of us outside the UK were supposed to get a little flash movie telling us we have been blocked, but its broken.

We could use the proxy listed above to get to the site, but since they went to all that trouble to block us out, they clearly aren't interested in us playing so I wouldn't waste your time.

Given that the BBC is doing the same kind of geoblocking on the Torchwood game, I wonder if it might be related to that.

Weird thing is. I am from London and cannot access the website Razz

Bit weird of a Londoner cannot access his own country's website XD

EDIT:
I can get in via the FreeProxy Site. Seems we like take remote control to a computer there, which may count for the lag? :/ You get like 2 minutes before it shuts down (then you have to wait for 12 hours before you can get in again) and this is what I got.

PublicNet, the first link is the video of the woman.
SearchNet, search for subspots, comes up with a UK map.

I highly doubt this is anything to do w/ Torchwood; I've been a fan of Dr. Who/Torchwood for yrs and it just doesn't have that *feel* to it.

Edit: Oops double post.

I'd be surprised if it was running on anything other than GMT, especially as it appears to be blocking non-UK connections. Also, I grabbed a background and the symbols are almost exclusively British:

[TRIVIA]They're (from top left) the royal coat of arms (also used as the symbol for the SiS), the union flag, the London underground sign, the national rail network sign, what looks to be (from googling) the Hampshire ambulance service badge, the British police badge, the London fire service badge, the international red cross sign (also used as the British red cross sign) and the British army badge.[/TRIVIA]

Funnily enough, the bottom grouping seems to rank in order of which organisation you'd get to handle an emergency situation, once you get to the army your truly up a brown river.

The first [something] is "technology", the second sounds like it's "future".

The anthem sounds like a very mangled "God Save The Queen" and the flag looks very much like the union flag:

Those flashes were either the flag or "DPS-4 039" or a combination unles I missed one.

[SPEC] Could it be something for Doomsday or The Happening?[/SPEC]

EDIT: Realised the trivia was slightly off.

Yeah that theme isn't God save the queen (I'm from the UK) but it is a British style anthem. But that flag is The Union Jack.

Sidenote. Even though I haven't accessed the site in ages I'm still getting the failed vid.

Here is the video.

It does sound like the bit at the end of the anthem, just before the last "Go-od saaaave thuuh Queeeeen!". It gets as far as "...o-ver us. Go-od...".

I'm still getting the access failed flash too. I wonder if the broadcasts will only be happening at mid day? If so I'll have to take my lunch early. I tried to get on the site today but the work computers don't have flash installed so I'm left with dial up, *ugh*.

Time for sleeeeeeep...
