So, would Unrated Director's Cut be a combination of the two?
I need to brush up on my DVD terminology, lol.

well it could all be considered director's cut. i think it would depend on how the director would want it. think about it, unrated version screams tits, ass, and sex galore. border line porn. example good luck chuck unrated.gives the director a more laid back kind of persona, more like "hey im all about college f**kfest!!,but i had to cut it out of the movie or the only way you would be able to see it is on satellite." however a dirctor's cut give the director a more artsy " here is the twenty minutes i cut from the movie because the studio said those scenes were to long and boring, and that people weren't going to sit through 3 hr movies unless kevin costner is in it. even though i think it was perfect the way was."

they put both terms together in that form because due to the violent nature of the scenes that were cut out. the movie was too bloody for it to get the proper rating, but the director felt the edited scenes took something away from the movie. hence a unrated director's cut

Unrated doesnt always mean more graphic content. It just means the footage hasnt been rated by the MPAA due to it not being in the original movie. Youll notice this in the special features on dvds, even non unrated ones. It just means its content that hasnt been put before the board

i totally agree with that, but when you watch a making of a movie and when they get into ratings for their movie. they already have a good idea of what is going to make it and what is not. look at south park they pushed they envelope to the highest r rating, they new how much they could get away with. i believe their first draft of the movie was an nc-17 rating, so they removed the bare minimum to get an r rating.

Yea thats what i meant exactly. youll notice i said that sometimes it doesnt mean more graphic content. but i do agree that sometimes it does . On the South Park thing, i so couldnt believe they got away with an R rating for that movie. But times change. was just saying the other day how things that get a pg-13 these days wouldve have received and R ten year ago

yeah movie ratings have become more leaniant , while video games have gotten 10 times harsher. Take manhunt two for example. the ESRB said that because one part was so bad that it needed to go so they took it out and then they started saying that EVERYTHING was too bad so they colored the screen and now you cant even see what your doing...
And in turn it affected future games pushing boundaries...everyone thinks videogames promote violence...but ppl saying this have never even sat down and played...all videogames have a cartoony edge to them so it never feels real on purpose

Not true AT ALL. Not by a long shot. Look at PG movies that came out in the 90s...many would be rated pg-13 by today's standards. They could contain extreme profanity and nudity for God's sake. Just because PG-13 wasn't a rating back then doesn't mean that we can't measure movies by the same standards.
