 		it was only a theory,besides it was probably just the tagruato satellite.I also think that TIDO WAVE could have possibly created the monster some how since they are an enemy of tagruato.

 		yes a bunch of hippies, created a giant monster, thousands of years ago. knowing that tagruato would one day rise to power.
so it is written, so it shall be truth.

seriously people, the falling object is a piece of a satellite that Tagruato had been tracking.

where does he say that specifically?

also, what happened in the movies and what's in the production notes can easily lead the story into 2 different origins... the fact is, we know that the monster has been down there thousands of years, but the only hint of its origin in the movie is the object falling from the sky, which w/o any prior knowledge to the monster, it would seem that it was from space... So, basing off of that- the sequel could easily take the 'space' approach and run with it, simply because the mass majority of people that saw the movie don't know about the broken satellite or the production notes.

And, xboy, I absolutely agree with your analysis. Unless that falling object were to be explained as the satellite piece, or something else, in the sequel, it wouldn't make sense to the general audience to say that the monster has been around for thousands of years.

For the record, I'm pretty sure that the whole viral marketing thing was done by set of people who didn't really communicate with the actual filmakers much. All they cared about was getting attention for the movie, not fleshing out any official backstory. Which pisses me off. I guess we'll just have to wait for the DVD, or maybe future interviews with the filmakers for answers.

I'd like to think that too but Reeves did come out and say that it has to do with the "origins" of the monster.

 		this doesnt have to with the satellitebut do any of you guys remember Reeves saying something about an egg having to do with the monster's origin

 		hey i hav another question when hud and them were on the bridge and he filmed to the debree the debree looks lik a ship and has ther Tagrato logo on it and when the manga stops it has the monster on the ship i think the monster broke out from the chains and destroyed the ship

I don't.

If that was an egg and MGP came from it then that makes the whole "MGP is thousands of years old" thing bunk and the film makers haven't outright lied to us before.

I've never heard of anything like that and there wasn't an egg on the Brooklyn Bridge.
