 		OK don't laugh at me 'cause I know NOTHING about US Geography (they barely teach us about Canadian geog. here) but could it be New Orleans? Is that on the East coast? I know they have the big Mardi Gras every year...

This could also be interpreted to mean that where ever he is, he's operating under an alias to throw off any persuers. In this case, he slipped up and used his real name to make reservations...


I think Duluoz hit the nail on the head here. Plus, if Jake Starkey wasn't his real name, what good would it be for Meg to use this name in the filed police reports?

I guess my SPEC was maybe Meg doesn't even know who Jake really is...who says he's good? We don't have any evidence that Jake is our "Hero" he could be our antagonist...

Call Jake the HOOK. Jake is missing, we have international spies all over, a man in a mental institution that has to be humored in order to get anything useful out of him, nefarious Time Travel caused earthquakes and Biological warfare....

I was completely behind the "Jake is not in our time" theory until he mentioned Meg's mom:

SPEC: Jake probably has some way transmit messages back and forth - the NRU computer is his way of contacting them, could it be that they are sending him daily updates of specific pages so he can keep track of the changes to our time as well? Otherwise, how would he know if they wanted to pull him out early, or let him stay a bit longer...

Yea but if he got the information on Meg's Mom from these "daily updates" why would he say it like that? If they told him that she was sick he would just ask how she was doing. Therefore he's either in the present or he got the information from someone else. Then told the folks at NRU that she was sick and could they check on her.

Just some observations. Again, it's from the bottom up.


I'm on my way back. I won't tell you from where. It's time.

His journey is complete and he is coming home. Why now, why is it time? From where, and why can't he tell the doc?


Today was amazing. I watched the sunrise over the Atlantic. I miss Meg.

I thought I saw a hopper today. I watched him for about an hour during the parade. I'm too paranoid. I'll leave another message soon.

Hopper is a person and most likely another time traveller. He is afraid of other hoppers. Could be the ones after him. Was at a parade, which one? Mardi Gra? Thanksgiving?


You were right. The fishing is incredible on the north fork.

He was told about some good fishing by someone, the Doc maybe. Not sure where the North Fork is. Is there a sepcific fishing time frame? Summer? Fall? Or does it not matter?


Spring Training time. This might help pass the time.

Spring training is mainly in March so It still fits the timeline. He's also waiting for something because he is trying to kill time.


I've had to move again. I used my real name on the phone making flight reservations.

He's been moving becuase he needs to move "again." Someone is after him forcing him to move. He has been using an alias and they found him becuase he screwed up and used his real name.


Meg's mother is sick could you check on her for me?

Meg's Mother gets sick right around March, 25th.

Now it's New Years. He's communicating with the Doc who's wife or close associate is Kat.



I want to come home. I miss the mountains. It snowed here today. Meg would have loved the crispness.

It's winter where ever he is and he's not in the mountains. Again Dec. sometime.



I'm safe. I'll be in contact soon. Make sure to check this page from time to time from the library. I'm working on a better system to communicate. Much more secure.

Just got to where ever he went. Probably right around Dec 12th, when Meg reported him missing. This page can be found thru the library but he's trying to find a better way.

Well, not necessarily...he could either have some sort of technology that used a wormhole or something to send data back in time (specialized computer)...they can basically make anything up at this point.

I think his log isn't detailed enough to support that. If he was sending data back as some sort of project by the University from the future it'd be WAY more detailed than "fishing is great."
