Okay, I'm a dingbat. The code I was referring to did not post correctly. I've disabled HTML in this post so let's see if it comes out correctly:

<!--
function openWin() {window.open('monetizer/link.php','Monetizer','width=500,height=300,left=200,top=200,screenX=200,screenY=200');}
-->

Maybe someone has time to browse the redloyola file directory.
http://www.alexloyola.com/pics/

at the least, maybe there is something funny in there.

This is the latest email from Code Monkey (subject - Friends of the Departed)

The code is important, cuz that's where it's at.
A kl00 hidden in there, for all friends to see.
A very small snippet that just shouldn't be.

I have no clue what it means.

Edit/I thought I would repaste the code here to help us see the small snippet that just shouldn't be.

The binary translates to the following (note that I truncated the binary in order to better fit inside this post):

They are watching, be careful

The link was wrongly encoded (doesn't exist), since there is no "imgs" directory at redloyola.com. However, there is an "img" directory. The intended link is here: http://www.redloyola.com/img/bar.jpg.

The link points to an image of a multi-colored bar, likely to be used in cracking our code.

If the color is at all important, we might want to look at Munsell Color Notation:

Somebody please verify I got the colors right; since it's JPEG, I don't want to attribute it to loss.

Considering:

R+G-BHR*B-RdB/2+RaG-B-GjB-G

...there are 13 of "R", "G" and "B". Then again, there are also 13 characters to either side of the slash.

I'm guessing it's some sort of equation at this point, but I suggest we be sure of the color codes we have before we proceed. Anyone?

Color codes confirmed.

I wonder if the image bar could also be applied to the Flickr images to unmask a hidden message...

It's always [Color][Command]

+:Additive
-:Subtractive
H:Hue?
*:Multiply
d:?
/:?
a:?
j:?

Seeing as I have just recently apparently become a Photoshop expert, let me screw with it a bit...

Where is the Flickr page?

After further review... I haven't the first damn clue.

I think this particular puzzle was designed for an audience that was too big.

Letters are too ambiguous, especially when there's extra symbols that don't necessarily lend themselves to a single interpretation. :/

Which is sad.

I kind of like this puzzle, but the fun part is trying to solve a puzzle, not trying to figure out how to solve a puzzle. (Not for this long anyway.)

I have a feeling that once we get this solve I'll be shaking my head at how simple it was given that you knew what to do.

Perhaps this puzzle is supposed to be unsolvable... you never know. Smile

Well, I'm gonna keep trying some different angles. We've gotten so many prods... the problem is that all of the prods have been completely unrelated. I think the prods have been hurting us, not helping... it's been dividing out attention.

I've tried the Photoshop angle, but I can't imagine getting something out of a photo involving 13 filters when you can usually get something with one or two.

I've tried the mathematics angle, but the numbers don't jive, and I don't know what to do with the letters.

just for the record, the place where you get the clue of the bar.jpg is in the automated reply you get from the support. Look at the source code and down there you can see a little comment saying bar.jpg

but I don't get WHAT are we supposed to do with that Razz
