Just got back from an event, what a snafu that was.
I'm at work so I'll write it up and post about it later.

Stopped by the Briarwood Mall Harvey Dent Event around noon today. Pretty good crowd considering the weather, cold and windy. People either knew what was going on and rushed over, or paid the gathering no mind what so ever, being used to odd goings on around Ann Arbor. Mall security drove by and gave a friendly honk and wave, so that was not an issue, at least while I was there. Couldn't stay long, saw a lot of people with down loaded material that I would have liked to talk to. And most importantly, even tho I got there late I got some way cool SWAAAAAAG!
T-shirt and everything. All and all a lot of fun.

I got my voter card in the mail today. sort of...

It's all torn up, was in a 'sorry, your mail was damaged' envelope from the post office. The worst part is that the actual voter ID card is missing!
I guess I have to come up with another photo to submit quickly, and hope that one doesn't get damaged... grr, I had a hard enough time coming up with even one idea.

I submitted the photo of my torn card to IBIHD, with an explanation. Got this message back:
"PS: Thank you for informing us about your voter registration card tampering. We will forward your info to the Gotham City Clerk for re-issue."
Woo!

You need to submit a photo or video at IBelieveInHarveyDent.com
Then in a little while you'll get the voter card in the mail.
Also, I got Gold placement!
I submitted this video last night, had way too much fun making it:

Hey guys, stopping in to pimp my submission on IBIHD-- sadly the resolution requirements kinda kill some of the visuals but if anyone has some time and feels like sparing me a digg, I'd love to know what you think:

Looking forward to getting the voter card.

Hey Thunderclap8- saw your post this morning, like it a lot! Thought with you in Chapel Hill and myself in Raleigh we'd end up in the same district, but alas...
Anyway good work, man!

Thanks! Yours is pretty cool too - I really like it when it's obvious that someone put in a lot of effort for a submission. Did you take all the pictures yourself?
I've submitted two things now, and am in two separate voting districts... I've got one in Endsbury and another in Gainsly. Which district are you in? I have a feeling they're somewhat random.
If there's future events you need someone else to work on with, let me know!

Ah, hey, I am in Gainsly- I must have missed the other submission. After scrolling through about 50 of the entries and not finding another Gainsly I gave up on it figuring that the district importance would reveal itself eventually. Also I've arbitrarily decided I like being in Gainsly since it's kinda the heart of midtown with Wayne Tower and whatnot. Delusional importance is always my favorite aspect of ARGs.
I wanted to do something that looked slick because I felt the youtube-looking ones were a little lacking. All in all though it's about 8 hours work over the course of a few days. The song didn't take any time and I like my double duty lyrics. (my singing not so much) The buttons take a little time to assemble but I think I'll drop the spares at the comic shop or something.
I did take the majority of the photos. Some of the Dentmobile in action (since NC kinda got screwed in that department) are on loan from DrTran from flickr and Joel Yohn from Bookmans.com. Some are photoshops, the Goliaths ball field is a shopped photo of the Mudcats place in Zebulon but I was at the park and put the sticker on the back of the chair, so it's really only the 'Goliaths' that was shopped there. I was trying to get into a more weird sort of vibe right at the end, but I dunno if it translated into the final product.
If we get to do something as a voting district that'll be pretty cool!

oh wow, I had assumed the song was something you found and not you doing it. Even cooler!

When submitting I didn't see how to indicate that it was a song too, but I figured if I was gonna do it I might as well go all out. No fantastic vocalists on hand short notice though....
Lyrics:
I hate this city so damn much
that it tears me up inside.
With everyone in such a rush,
we all feel brushed aside.
Beaten, broken, tired and bruised
wears us down right to the bone.
With our hearts cleaved clear half in two,
no where left to call a home.
Set me free. (x
There's a voice here, deep inside my head,
wants to find a better way.
Fight for justice, make judicious change,
that might just save the day.
Swallow anger, hide our fear and regret,
let our virtue be our guide.
Take a chance now, try a leap of faith
and clear the great divide.
Set me free. (x
Might have worked good with a clear tenor on the verses and ragged Waits sound on the refrain. LOL.

I just got my Harvey Dent Campaign package in the mail today.
Man the newspaper is jam packed with all sorts of cool info and tons of new sites to visit.
I just started looking up almost everything that stands out a little bit on the newspaper and I found about a dozen different sites.
I'm bookmarking them all.
If anyone needs a list, let me know.
I like to do it myself instead of just reading posts to see who has already found them.
cheers.
