<Trailhead> FCLSNY
New ARG Coming To New York City

The trailhead for FCLSNY is out on the web, somewhere.

I won't spoil any mysteries here, or even tell you where/what it is, but I will give you Unfiction members a little guidance that might help you out when you play the game. I think you'll find it's very different from other ARGs that have been springing up recently.

1. The game is incredibly short - you are going to have to form groups, recruit needed assets, and solve problems in hours, not weeks. That means you are going to have to make use of every tool at your disposal. Real-time communication is a must.

2. Throw away the past. We know that you love forums, we are talking in one right now, but there are better ways of solving puzzles and interacting: especially when time is limited. Instead of forums, which are dark and intimidating, we have an open CMS based system that funnels in relevant content about the game from around the web, and allows for highly organized discussion, on and off the site. Better get in there early, the entire hierarchy is up for grabs.

3. This game is played on the streets. New York ARG fans: Get out there, the clues are right around you, plus you can live-stream your progress to our website - if your phone is fancy enough - so you'll never have to go off-line to play.

The game ends Sunday, with more than 50 clues yet to be found and one man's future on the line. You guys better get working.

Huh...so this is part of "Faceless Invasion" then?

The only YouTube video currently tagged with "fclsny" is entitled "Faceless Invasion Naked Chocolate Pudding Wrestling" -- seems an interesting scavenger hunt indeed. (Warning: practically anything you'd find searching for "Faceless Invasion" online is probably NSFW)

If you are part of that, however, IE and Firefox is having some problems with the "facelessinvasion.com" website -- script errors of some sort.

NSFW?

I've been working with Faceless Invasion for almost two years now, and I can tell you that we/they are about much more than college sex stunts. It is an organization with a history of manipulation and coercion, and we are very good at it. Last year the theme was sex. This year, we are focused on privacy. It's a whole new game.

You don't have to be in NYC to play our next game, but you will have more stuff to do that way.

I think it is bad form for me to be posting on this forum any more. Put the pieces together and you'll do find.

Interested slightly - if i can help people out but not being NY based it's going to be pretty useless. And I hate getting involved in stuff I can't get REALLY involved in.

How nice for you.

I think you mean it is bad form for you to post on this forum at all. PMs who post about their games (while they are running) violate the unfiction Terms of Service. If you need to post about your game, perhaps you might contact despoiler.org. Thanks.

Gee it sucks to be you. Can't access your facebook. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I get the impression that I'm supposed to care about this person's situation and help him out. I'm probably a jerk or something, but if he's as annoying and whiney as he seems, I'd be rooting for the identity hackers except they're stupid enough to pick this loser instead of someone with a life. Or a wardrobe.

Not quite good enough, it seems.

Actually, if we could get a decent shot of the QR Code on the paper, it could probably be decoded to a web address.

Best I can do. Not only is it rather blurry in the source video, but it seems awfully big to be just a web address.

Yeah, already tried cleaning it up to no avail due to the blur.
