Re: Postcard

Has anyone checked Monica's postcard against the postcards that came with the packages to see if there's a match?

Hi Hikaro!

The post cards that came in the boxes were from the 1920 Olympics in Antwerp, Belgulm. You can see them here. And they're more like photographs then post cards. Post cards usually have stuff on the back to separate the address from the message, these are blank except for the messages about finding stuff and saving the world.

For those of you unable to see the wiki, I can tell you that none of the pictures from the boxes matches Monica's post card.

The postcard Monica has is completely different and according to the printed info on back, the image on the front is of "86. Madrid.-Rio Manzanares y Puente de la Princess." Or in English "86. Madrid. Manzanares River and the Princess Bridge".

Some playing with Google maps has determined that if you just type in "Rio de Janeiro," "Copenhagen," "Madrid," and "Boston", the default marker location for those cities is the same as our coordinates (i.e., the city center as reckoned by Google).

Toronto and London show up elsewhere, though:

The London coordinates are at Clapham Junction (nowhere near the city center)
The Toronto coordinates are at the intersection of Bloor & Yonge. (near the city center, but not Google's city center).

Not a big deal given the generic locations as found by danteIL, but the postcard uses decimal degrees and not Degrees/Minutes/Seconds (DMS) notation for the coordinates. A system that wouldn't exist for another 120+ years.

Monica

I've written an email to Monica asking her for more details about the note she reads in the video.

Has anybody written Diego back with what we've gleaned from Monica's info so far??

Yes, i wrote to Diego yesterday a few minutes after received the email, i told him that he have to ask Monica more information (don't have time for the translation, but there is no need to translate this).

Quote:

Saludos Diego!

Then i wrote another email to him:

Quote:

Madrid
Londres
Copenaghe
Boston
Toronto
Rio de janeiro

Espero que el dato sirva...

Translation: Diego, the card that Monica sent has coordenates that point to this places:

Madrid
London
Copenaghe
Boston
Toronto
Rio de Janeiro

Waiting for an answer... Cool

Monica answered my email this morning. Previously I told her about the coordinates locations and asked more info basically. Here's what she replied:

Quote:
Hola riquardo,

Which means in english:

Quote:
Hi riquardo,

Are you a friend of Diego? That's nice, it seems Diego has a lot of friends who are willing to help him. Did you knew him before?

About the postcard, it's true. They are coordinates of cities. The truth is when I was little I didn't bother (?) to investigate. Do you think it might have something to do with the travellers [in the video she said they were 5, I think] that were following (?) the "man of the labyrinth"? About the codex of the lost ring I don't know anything more about it. I just know that my uncle-grand father said that part of the investigation was hiding somewhere. Surely there are many answers, but I don't know where to start!

Regards,
Monica

Hi there everyone. I've been lurking this game for a while, following your investigations and such, and I guess it's time to offer my help, as I live in Madrid.

So, just random information for you... the "Puente de la princesa" (Princess' bridge) is not like the one in the postcard anymore, it's a concrete one now:

And the coordinates for the centre of Madrid is the "0 kilometre", in "Puerta del Sol", the point from where we count the kilometres of the roads in Spain.

The place of Monica's photo is "Palacio de Comunicaciones" (palace of communications in english), so yes, the photo has been taken here for sure. Here's a pic of the building, so you can see it yourselves:

Anyway, if you need any other info about Madrid, or think something more can be hidden somewhere in here, count me in for investigating it! Wink

Places

We have three locations in Madrid:

Puente de la princesa
Palacio de comunicaciones
Puerta del sol

I cannot locate the coordenates of Puente de la Princesa (i think there is no reference in google earth).
Maybe we can do something with the coordenates of this 3 locations...

Tenchizard... we are gonna need your help!

Monica's answer

Monica answer my email requesting more info:

Quote:
¡Hola Javier!

Besos,
Mónica

I wish this help.
Do you have any idea about the meaning of this?
Kisses
Monica

Okay until we get a better copy from Monica, here is a fuzzy screencap from YouTube of the picture.

It looks to me like the Greek word is:

μύειν

If I am deciphering correctly, this is "myein," which can translate to the verb "to initiate" or "to close" and is the root of the word mystery.

And I think that thing at the bottom is a trident.

Looks like you are definitely right about the word myein. According to another source:
myein: To close, referring to the lips and the eyes. Etymologically, the word mystery is derived from the Greek verb myein.

Now to figure out 595 Trident 20...

I like the idea that it has something to do with the Fountain of Neptune in Madrid.

Possibly the "595" is similar to the number that our TA's have come up with the attributes they saw in their visions?

On a side note, I sent Noriko a summery of what Monica's email and video said.

Diego's emails

I have two new emails from diego, first, he talk about the info related to coordenates and cities:

Quote:

Gracias

Translation:

Quote:

Thanks for the investigation. Does those cities tells you something new? The only thing i know is that Monica lives in Madrid, but i cant find a relation beetwen she and me and the other 6...
All data is welcome! Thanks

Then he reply an email i sent about the Monica's note detail:

Quote:

números... 595 -> 20?
Gracias!

Translation:

Quote:

uuau! Good info! I can see a labyrinth as the ones i draw (those that i cant get off my mind), but i dont understand that signs and numbers...
595 - > 20?

Note that Diego replace the trident wit an arrow...

Sorry for the posting in the trailhead forum... Embarassed

Warning: Wild-ass Spec...

[WaS] So in this case I think mystery means secret. Our six and the six from 1868 are initiates into a secret sect. The blindfold is to keep the secret, even from the initiates. Their duty, to open and close portals to other universes. If they can't complete their task, the world is doomed. When they appear the portal has opened, now we have to help them run the labyrinth to close it. [/WaS]

In fact, it would be helpful to learn a bit more about that Greek word before we look at it in the New Testament. (1) The Greek word mysterion comes from the word myein, which means "to close." Close what? In the case of the mysteries, I think it primarily means to close one's mouth, because the Greek word mysterion was used most frequently in connection with their religions to talk about mystery cults, groups of religious initiates who had been sworn to secrecy over the mysterious, sacred rituals of life and death. Mysterion meant to close one's mouth, to keep secret the things they did together in practicing their religion. Mystery was meant to close off discussion, not open it. Even today, if we begin, "God as the Trinity is a mystery," that tends to close off discussion. What can you say in the face of mystery?

Hi guys, first post here.

I've looking at some of the info on this thread and discussing it with a friend (its user is VictorSueiro).

[spec] These places in Madrid have some sort of parallels in Buenos Aires.

Palacio de comunicaciones = Correo Central (Both head offices of the national mail service of both countries)
Puerta del sol = Plaza de Mayo (Both serves as starting point [0 km] for national routes.)
Puente de la princesa = Puente de la Mujer (Princess' Bridge and Woman's Bridge) [This one is inferential rather than factual]

[/spec]

These three places are kind of close to each other in BsAs. I don't know if same kind of parallels may be found on the other cities involved.

I like the idea of having portals, not to pararel universes (although that'd be cool too), but within our world. I once read a theory in a Lost message board, about the "Vile Vortices" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vile_Vortices) - which is not the same I was saying, but it kind of reminds me of that.
