Instructions for finding preparing the lost ring


So we have:

The committee still exists and sends travelers into our world.

The athletes will guide us in savig our world.

The athletes have amnesia due to Lethe ("Lethe is one of the several rivers of Hades: those who drank from it experienced complete forgetfulness" Wikipedia. You usually had to drink from it before you could be reincarnated).

The author of the note is either Jorge or one of his 5 friends ("just as we six were in the third year of the 666th Olympiad". 666th is 1888, and the third year would be 1891? So Jorge and his friends traveled to the ruins of ancient Olympia and burried their note there for someone to find it...)

From the secret podcast we know that Eli already built the house of Salomon. We should ask him where it is (maybe it's just a metaphor or something).

Oh, and it says: Instructions for preparing the lost ring, not "finding".

 		can I just say one thing? I'm fairly certain it's "Solomon" not "Salomon". Especially if referring to Kings in the Bible Wink
It's the House of Solomon. The only place I can see the "a" come from is the cursive script in the prophecy, to which I'd say it could still be an o just with an extra flourish Razz

 		Eli Hunt's "Secret" page uses an OMPH notation that probably refers to the Omphalos.

Starting with the first entry in 1896, the OMPH STRENGTH increases, peaking in 1920, the last year there was only one Olympics (with the Winter Olympics added in 1924). After that it decreases until the status turns to FALSE with the 1936 Olympics.

We know that in 1888 a group of six successfully completed the "game" and passed on the message to Eli by leaving a note in the statue. At that point, the Omphalos started gradually charging, a process that was somehow stopped by having two Olympic Games. Beyond the 1888 event, we don't know of the Lost Games successfully being completed (to my knowledge).

That bit confused me - Solomon obviously makes more sense than Salomon - I wasn't able to find any Salomon that was particularly relevant. But Salomon is how Eli transcribed it - check the subtitles if you don't believe me. I don't know what to make of it. Maybe Eli Hunt got it wrong, meaning that he never made the Salomon = Solomon connection in the twenty, thirty something years that he's had the thing, he put the wrong thing in the podcast, which seems random, or Salomon's some mysteries figure we haven't been able to find. I dunno. Maybe it's a clue.

A similar thing with Lethe - Lethe makes way more sense than Lithe, but I can clearly see a dot for the i in the cursive.

Also - a theory: The "Instructions for Preparing the Lost Ring" seems like a weird thing to put at the bottom of a scroll. So maybe there's another scroll which'll tell us how to find the lost ring.

[SPEC]I'm too tired right now to make any connection to FtLR but a quick Google search on "House of Salomon" yielded a Wikipedia article here on the first hit about a book called "The New Atlantis" by Francis Bacon. It's about a mythical land and its intellectuals go to a college called... you guessed it, a House of Salomon.

Using Wikipedia search, Salomon appears to be a variant spelling for Solomon, though I couldn't find a source that spelled the biblical Solomon "Salomon".[/spec]

"Solomon" is called "Salomon" in spanish, and I would guess that in other languages as well.

Salomon is a brand of sporting equipment--I know it best for their skis and other winter products, but I think they have branched into other outdoor areas as well. May just be a coincidence, as I have no idea how to connect it.

 		Two things:

1) I think that "Salomon" is just an alternative spelling of "Solomon" in this case.

2) Like Hikaro wrote above, I think that this has to do with Francis Bacon and the "House of Salomon:" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_Atlantis
