Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Replacing N-S with A-F, you get true Hex:

[Begin Transmission]] Ok, I'm going to start from the beginning. In early 1994, not too long after the first Gulf war took place. Several members of the British Armed Forces Governmental Institute began discussions over the possibility of changing time, going back and making thinigs different... Possibly to save funding and possibly to make things worse. Obviously people laughed at this except two men, one who knew all too well it was a possibility and his very good friend, Dr. William Laker. - Who was this person? David Peterson. David was intrigued by the knowledge that Dr. Laker had on one Richard Matthews, a young boy who had a very special gift. Nobody knew what caused it or how to explain it, but it seemed that young Richard Matthews would inexplicably disappear from his bedroom while either sleeping or just playing around. His mother used to freak out and want to call the police, his father however knew what was happening and along with his good friend, Laker figured out how to contain the situation and keep things calm... There is more to come but right now I fear I've got company so I'll leave you with this. The members of the BAFGI are as follows: Myself (Michael Stanford) David Peterson William Laker Sarah Knight Cassidy Longstrom Brian Hark. [[End Transmission]]

...and I'm on a "top of page" ROLL today!

Wow. So, we finally have a backstory to this entire crazy thing. Richard isn't going to like this. That story is really out there in terms of Scifi. This entire ARG is really freakin' weird.

I bet he gave us those names for a reason. Perhaps they have email address or blogs?

Also, Richard Matthew's story and time travel stuff is exactly like Quantum Leap and JouneyMan. *sigh*

If i see similarites with other published works, then i'm gonna call them on it. There are ARGs out there with more believeable and/or original plots.

This ARG isn't that bad. The puzzles have been rising in difficulty from simplistic binary to not-completely-there hex.

You don't have to be a jerk, you know? booba was trying to make me feel better about missing the source code by putting the blame on the creators. then you took that compliment away. Now, you're arguing that my stating how similar this ARG is to other works somehow is wrong? Oh kay...

firstly players miss clues and hints when playing an arg that is what makes it all the more fun working with others, if someone misses something it isn't a big deal but to "put blame" on the creator/pm of an arg because a player admits to missing it just to make that player feel better is a bit rude when it isn't the case.

and yeah if something is similar or has trademarks of a particular tv show or film sure thing go for it, call that but to sigh about it and put down the pms lack of originality or creativity because some of his work may in your eyes have similarities to certain things again is a little rude

ive seen pms stop games for both of those reasons in the past, and if you think the game is too unoriginal for your liking or the pm isnt doing a good job you dont need to play it *shrug* that is all im saying

alright... I understand both sides... and I see where the comments are comming from, but we are here to play this game...

I hear dposse saying that maybe it could be more original... and that could all well be true... But maybe the PM was inspired by the shows you are talking about and wanted to try a game surrounding the same things...

Stone, I hear you too... You also figured out the code a while back and the site wouldn't allow you to post it which I am sure is very frustrating in itself... and now, you feel like the game you are so hard at work on is being criticize and that sucks as well...

We should all just take a breather and focus back on the game!! You two are both very vital to the game continuing, so hang in there....

Plus, did you get my goodies I was offereing.. think of them as "peace treaties"... Brownie no pun intended lol

Does it have something to do with the fact that hex can only be 00 to FF? Wink

No you didn't Hawk. 20 years of programming can get you oodles of cash by going off programming...something for somebody.
Just knowing that Hex goes from 00 to FF can't Wink
