I can't, I'm afraid. I wouldn't be home in time to take my law exam. Wink

Thank you, but no.

There is a bread store in Stockholm´s City Mission, I'll go tomorrow and look for an empty shelf above the cakes.

So, I know we're thinking that the pickup location is a bread store...but I was looking at that wikipedia article again and noticed that outside Number 3, the building that's the headquarters of the Stockholm City Mission, there's an inscription in German. I don't speak German, but maybe this says something about "brave and bold?" Anybody care to translate?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Stortorget_Bremer_H%C3%B6jer_mars_2007.jpg

EDIT: IRC saves the day again. The inscription doesn't mention brave or bold.

hm... just a wild thought... maybe the names of the cakes that you're supposed to look above are "brave and bold"? It *is* a bakery, and there might be dozens of shelves of cakes, so maybe the direction is narrowing it down for us?

The pattern would fit; the second line of the Austin pickup reads as "Reading Room 'Life of Sam Houston'", where "Life of Sam Houston" is the specific object we need to look for. So in this case, "Brave and Bold" may be the names of the little cakes which may indicate our next piece of the codex?

Oh, also, I tried looking at the online menu of the Grill House, but it's all in Swedish, so I can't read it at all...! Razz

FYI:
The complimentary location looks like it's around Saarbrücken, Germany.

Not sure whether the umlaut is required in the omphaputer.

Wish I still lived in Karlsrhue Sad

Based on the variance for Stockholm, a secondary choice could be K-Town (Kaiserslautern).

Given that a second artifact location for Omphalos #2 could be anywhere that is the same distance from Ribnitz-Damgarten that Stockholm is (or at least thereabouts ...), Saarbrücken looks possible, but the larger city of Munich (and perhaps Brussels at a stretch) looks possible too within the level of accuracy that we've seen.

Someone mentioned the possibility of it being a book, I found a book title "Brave and Bold" by Horatio Alger.

Link to the book: http://www.gutenberg.org/catalog/world/readfile?fk_files=30542&pageno=1

I was just going with the one example we have, so far, as a confirmed triplet (Austin being approximately a 180degree compliment of Stuartfield Cardiff from Stephenville).

OOG... From a set-up perspective, I could see them doing something as simple as stretching a rubber band with a mark at the halfway point between 2 cities they had cache access to and using the populated place closest to where the mark lands as the omphalos location.

ETA: Using a rubber band on a map, of course.

Yeah, I was wondering if it would work like that. But when we had Cardiff at 84 degrees and Austin at 240 degrees from Stephenville, I took that to indicate that it didn't actually have to be in the opposite direction (because by my somewhat inflexible reckoning, it's either actually in the opposite direction or not ... but I also have other strong opinions about distances and bearings that do little good here too).

So I called the bakery, and they found a book called "Brave and bold". She was too busy to check inside it, but I'll call back later today and then I'll update this post.

Just joined the game... too much information... but I just saw the latest clue was here in Stockholm, so I'll go visit the bakery now. Be back in an hour or so.
