Sapagoo nailed down the spelling of choice:

people near
the new ribnitz/damgarten

from my map:
we've got a few people near it
myf, krizis, and auz505 are the closest I can see
myf, krizis have a small body of water to cross: krizis is closest, myf is second closest. auz505 has no body of water to cross but is farthest
as far as I can tell
those are players.
Character near there would be lucie, who I'm told by Thomas_Bookmore is in paris.

Yikes. None are very close. Giskard (forum admin and sometime player), is in the Netherlands, but it's still a hike to get to Brussels.

This is an opportunity to see if Lucie can get across the border to Brussels...has anyone emailed her?

Someone who speaks French can post a message in the French forum at finthelostring.com (Lucie's forum). Perhaps there is someone around who is near Bruxelles.

Casa Manuel appears to be a restaurant.
" Grand Place 34 Grote Markt - Bruxelles 1000 Brussel"
So that appears to be 34 Grand Place aka 34 Grote Markt in Brussels/Bruxelles Belgium.
Should be easy enough to find.

Laughing Sorry, couldn't help being amused by the English Channel being classed as a "small body of water"!

Doesn't Lucie speak Belgian French? May just be a coincidence, but if none of the players can make it, I'm sure we can ask her. (What's a couple hundred miles, right?)

I think that this pickup should be pitched to Lucie. We've got these agents, and we've got to bring them into acceptance of their roles (assuming their roles are to be similar to Jorge's and the others of the 666th).

By the way, the restaurant's name is portuguese (Manuel's home/house) - there are a lot of portuguese emigrants in Belgium, Switzerland, France, around that area - so whoever goes, say "Obrigado" (Thank you) on the way back Smile !!!

It can be spanish too, so if you say obrigado and they don't understand, just say gracias! XD

Perhaps we need a new strategy to recover the arifacts. I guess the PM wants us to get the documents and not one of the six (so Lucie won't be an option). If we have troubles with Bruxelles what will happen if the next location is somewhere in India or Thailand Smile I do not remember where it was stated that we have to cover more or less each squaremile of the earth.

So perhaps we should try to find some community (forum, chat...) in Bruxelles and inform people about this fantastic game.

Unfortunately I haven't found such a thing, yet. Perhaps somebody else can help finding some place to post a question "Do you want to help to find the lost ring?"

AUZ - either Ariadne's pickup in Cardiff was just showing us what to do, or it was an indication that the athletes will be involved in the codex recovery too. I am sure Lucie's answer will be a strong indication one way or the other. if she says "but I can't get a passport" then we know we're supposed to collect that one, and maybe the rest. I think this issue will take care of itself.
