Also, another question... Was Matt Reeves the same director who did the chuai destruction videos? And was the same effects studios involved in making all the viral videos? how about jamie's videos? Did Matt Reeves and JJ abrams play an active role in their production?

I assume that they were not made by Reeves, and made by the marketing company...but I have no clue and would also like to know the answers to that

Most likely Matt Reeves did not direct the Jamie vids or the chuai stuff. That stuff is normally assigned to a special unit. During production it is common to have an "A unit" shooting principle photography (shots involving the main actors and/or action) and a "B unit" shooting ancillary stuff. The number of production units depends on the specific project (and budget). They must have assigned a production unit for the Jamie vids and another for the chuai destruction. They may have also used a third unit to produce the different news segments.

and maybe... MAYBE... when the cloverfield toy is shipped to us this september some sort of hidden clue or memo would be included in the package. Now THAT is another thing to look forward to. What do you guys think?
