Ooh, Sonnet 116 is one of my favorites! Jake's got good taste. Smile I'd imagine that a particularly relevant segment is this...

Quote:
Love is not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come.
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out.. even to the edge of doom.

... Perhaps he's reassuring Meghan to keep the faith even though time is passing. That is, assuming that Jake's the one sending the postcards to Meghan. Meghan is curiously unexcited about the prospect, though...

Gloversville, btw, is in upstate NY, between Utica and Schenectady. It used to be the glove-making/leather tanning epicenter of the U.S. back in the 1800s, and is located near the historic site of the last battle in the American Revolutionary War. Smile One quirky thing about Gloversville is that it's the home of the International Amphicar Club -- i.e., cars that run underwater. Shocked

Washington DC is a little more typical sightseeing destination... Wink

"love is not love that alters when it alteration finds"
