I got the video email, although I have to say I'm not particularly thrilled in receiving an email with a 9Mb attachment...

Gun Shot Discharge?

Commentary by Captain Paul Watson
On Board the Sea Shepherd ship Steve Irwin

The following two images were taken during the March 7 encounter between Sea Shepherd Conservation Society vessel the Steve Irwin and Japanese whaling vessel the Nisshin Maru. These photos clearly depict armed Japanese Coast Guard officers in plain view. On board the Steve Irwin, crew members are asking themselves the question:

Is the light in the centre of the photographs the discharge of a gun shot?

Quote from website about aforemention pictures.

Could be why we didn't get it then. Still using a non-gmail addy until I decide on an available address that doesn't suck. Could be my current email doesn't allow large attachments.

And Night, you have a crazy amount of bandwidth available to you, don't you? Wink

Good question.
Ehm... Perhaps I'm a little bit agressive or offensive, but I've send to them following email

Quote:
Yes, I am who you suppose.
And I am available for you know what.

Best regards from Germany,

I wonder, what they will answer, hehe.
P.S. Their email and my reply fit stylistically imho in the concept of KantSayWhere Institute Wink

Also, Max has convinced her not to post anymore info on her blog about the Russian UFO's. I'd think we'd want her to post info like crazy so that we could piece this thing together. Laughing

I'm sure all is well. Don't take this as an insult Max. I'm not sure I would have taken this course, but there is nothing wrong with it that I can see.

Not quite T....

I have convinced her not to post the information about the emails we received on her website, not UFO information.

As for the information on the Russian UFOs, I did one better. I'm getting the contact information for her source, so we don't have to wait for her website to update. We can ask the source directly any questions we have.

Also, I had to give her the information we had, or else there was no other way to build trust. It's the only information we had that would show her we weren't out to get her when trying to get information from her. Giving her the coded message that mentioned her website wasn't enough. When she asked: "Why is this case important?", the other information we had was the original website pointing to a Russian discovery of a UFO. It was presenting both of those pieces of information together that gave her the trust she needed to have in us to grant us requests.

I had to stop her from posting all of this information on her website, because don't forget, the information we're getting isn't supposed to be coming to us in the first place. Those people know the website because they gave it to us, so any information regarding the conversation I or anyone else here has had with Mary that would get posted to her site would tell Ilya the data is compromised.

We hold the cards now, because we have Mary trusting us, we're going to get her contact information soon, and then we can question the contact for who the person is that's sending us these emails, why they want him, and what's going on with the UFO.

META INFORMATION - Don't read this if you don't want to see anything about ARG playing theory. You have fair warning. Smile

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
From a meta view - PMs give us this kind of information to lead us into areas. When we get somewhere and meet a character that doesn't have this information, it's a way for us to present the solved puzzle to that character as a show that we're trying to help them. When there is a clear "bad guy", it's good to pick and choose what information to give them, but this early in the game, we need to "move along to story" and the way to do that is by showing the character we're on their side by sharing the info that led us to them.

But Max do you still think it was a good idea to show some chick from a website where we (as the operatives) are trying to find the "info leaker", all the coded "Top Secret" info the "Director" gave us? lol

You may have done one of the following things here, now:

1) Tricked this guy into believing you're a big enemy of theirs
2) Tricked this guy into believing you're one of them
3) Tricked this guy into thinking you're his/her significant other playing a prank Razz

Either way, this seems rather amusing that they think you're... er... someone XD

Um I also think that page is directing us to this website...

http://www.icrwhale.org/eng-index.htm

(Website was actually Japanese, but I went to the English version)

It's on the banners on the boat in the photos...

And the top story happens to be:

Quote:
SEA SHEPHERD CRITICIZED BY WHALING COMMISSION

March 2008

The international community has condemned the illegal acts committed by the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society against Japan's whale research program in the Antarctic.

The Institute of Cetacean Research (ICR) welcomes the International Whaling Commission's condemnation of Sea Shepherd, as well as the IWC's call that port states and the flag state of the Sea Shepherd vessel "Steve Irwin" take legal action against the organization.

The ICR's Director General Mr Minoru Morimoto said all members of the IWC, including Australia, which is acting as the port state of Sea Shepherd, and the Netherlands, which has given the "Steve Irwin" legal recognition under international maritime rules, have rejected the organization's illegal acts.

"We welcome the fact that Australia and the Netherlands joined in unanimous rejection of Sea Shepherd's anti-whaling methods and now expect the two IWC member nations to match their concerns with concerted action," he said.

"The international community has called on Sea Shepherd to leave the Antarctic, allow Japan's legal research to continue without harassment, and importantly the IWC is asking the port state of Australia and the flag state of the Netherlands to take the strongest action against the group," Mr Morimoto said.

The agreed statement by the IWC urged IWC member governments to take every action under international and national laws and regulations and to work together to prevent Sea Shepherd's continued dangerous actions that risk human life and property at sea.

"It is up to Sea Shepherd and its cult leader Paul Watson to decide whether they will give effect to the requests of the international community or whether they will continue to act illegally under the wrong illusion they are enforcing the law."

"Japan's research has been commended by the IWC Scientific Committee, it is perfectly legal and will continue," Mr Morimoto said.

Sea Shepherd has been rejected since 1987 from attending any IWC meeting because of threats to individuals and various delegations.

Yes, because we aren't supposed to have that information in the first place.

It's what we had to use as a bargaining chip with Mary in order for her to give us the information we need to find - The name of her contact.

Mary is just some amateur UFO fan. That's established by the look of her website and the video blog she makes where she's wearing a tin foil hat in the shape of a cowboy hat in honor of her trip to a field in Roswell.

I have her trust in me now because I gave her the info that led us to her site, and in return she's giving us her contact information, along with not posting the info I gave her to her website. That would be bad at this point.
