Curse my lack of knowledge on cipher machines!
I have no idea on how to work that thing at all. I don't even know which one to download from that site.

I wonder if the not-quite-text of the email has anything to do with anything?

One Underbar, empty line, one underbar, two underbars. Hmm.

Just idle musing. Still would probably be good to break the cipher first.

What does the whole procedure mean:

Quote:
To decrypt it, use your cipher machine- The advanced version on Czech layout and rotor settings, Latin on cipher mode 30. Refresh after every attempt.

[META]
I suppose, it's OOG, but the PDFs properties tell me something:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Author: KV
Company: Texas A&M University
[/META]

P.S. Ok, perhaps, it was semi-meta, because KV is the same signature as in that document.

We all seem to be right now.

Quote:
We are still not sure of who is behind the March 16 Events, but it's likely to be the Americans or British. If there is to be any communication, do so in English, they are not expecting that.

I'm tempted to pose as one of their employees and ask for a new cipher machine, but...

1) Good way to compromise myself, especially so early on in the game
2) If these are the good guys, and the bad guys are Americans or British... I don't see how responding in English would actually help. Generally, Americans and British can read english, regardless of if they're expecting it or not.

I wouldn't Illy, seeing as they said not to email their address (Well, not too often anyway Wink )
I was thinking it was a Soviet Fialka (R-125) earlier, but then I thought "I have no idea what I'm doing" after I couldn't find any online translators. But hey, just throwing this out to broaden our perspectives. Or something.

Stick around natas, this should be a good one.

High - I definitely think you're on the right track. Here is a simulator to try:

Well, from a strategic standpoint...

[semi-meta]
It seems (STRICTLY STORYLINE-WISE), were sent to us by mistake, and were meant for the employees of this company. The reason they'd ask not to reply, to me at least, sounds like it's because they think their employees are being tracked, and they don't want to compromise this "unofficial" email. However, since we're not employees, we're most likely not being tracked, and could theoretically send whatever we please to them XD

That, however, would compromise our identities as non-employees, and get on their bad sides. In short: Yes, you're right. No sending stuff to them XD 'Tis still rather tempting, though.[/semi-meta]

Also, @Natas: Well, since you were the first one to actually get content up... I suppose you win XD I'll remove my link.

It tells us that Texas A&M is at the forefront of the Russian killing machine industry. Somewhat of a niche market, mind you...
