I too have that email. Just read up on everything that's been happening, and again, I feel like I've wasted my time... not in a bad way. But everything is such a mish-mash of something yet nothing that it doesn't make any sense, and I can't seem to find anything to latch on to as of yet. Maybe just me, but, I dunno. I'll keep watching for a little while, see what transpires.

Journey...

This may not be as bad as I originally thought. The book was already popular by the time Routledge got around to publishing, so all editions may be similar. On the bad side, this book is over a hundred years old. My library has a 1965 version which I will look at, but I'm not optimistic. This edition MAY have been xfered to microfiche at some point. Try university catalogs and long established libraries. Rare book dealers might have it in larger cities, esp. NYC, where these tend to cluster. London or British universities would also be a good bet since it was a UK pub. Looking for .pdf versions now...

The library search was unsuccessful. There were only a few copies of the book on the shelves. They were recent editions. None of them had HANS in the proper location.

There is still hope. Another library on campus houses rare and very old books. I could go there and look for an old Routledge printing.

The problem is that security is extra tight there and I have to fill out an information sheet that explains why I want the book. Then the librarian goes back into the stacks and gets the book for me. It will be funny to write "I need to crack a code to save the world from aliens" in the blank. Laughing

LOL she would probably call the FBI (or a mental hospital) Smile

You could lie though, say you need it for research or something...

I'm not getting e-mail by the way. I got the first one with the PDF file and the code, but I'm not getting anything else Sad

I see now why only Scotty got the e-mail. They think he is one of them for sure since he gave them the name. Now they know he is in Florida too. Is that really where you are Scotty?

Yes, so we know for a fact he is from UnForums. (The PM)

Alright let me catch up 9 pages, shit.

Or he used your IP or something.

ETA: I just got off the phone with the librarian at Cushing Library (the one with old books). She said there is no Routledge printing in that library. However, the 1900 version that I mentioned earlier as being checked out is a Routledge printing. I guess I can't help much. The checked out book isn't due back until April 1st. How they allow a book from 1900 to be checked out is beyond me.

I've been very vocal myself of being in Miami (I say it pretty much in every first email I sent to a contact), and the only acknowledgment I've gotten is Ellie/Mary/Moonrocklady asking me how the weather is.

My HIGH SCHOOL use to have a New York phone book from 1902 on the shelf. If you want Rockefeller and Carnegie's phone numbers, let me know. Wink

Thing is this is an old print.

Wait... What if the library is IN Florida? Gonna go check the locals...

Alright I got an email from Ilya, and there is something attached. It will not open because It says it may contain a virus and is malicious. I would like to forward it to someone who wants to take the risk.

OK, I did get the email too after awhile. Went to B&N to see what they had on a lark, but no luck with the editions they had. I'll see what the University has here.

ETA - looking again at the link I posted online earlier with pages missing, it appears that some Wal-Marts of all places might carry it. Here is the ISBN
ISBN-13: 9781853262876
ISBN-10: 1853262870

Look familiar? Smile

Differs slightly... That's an original print, signed in 1887. So we are looking for some seriously old book here.
