[RING][EMAIL] Diego March 9 - new character, Monica?

Diego just sent an email to a bunch of us, in which he forwards an email from a spanish girl who had a story like what's happening to them. This seems pretty important, as there are 3 pictures too (I don't know how to post them - don't have a flick account yet), and a youtube link (which I haven't seen yet, so there's a lot of suspense right now). With no further delays, here is the email:

Quote:

No podía creerlo cuando he visto tu perfil y tus fotos. Here's my try at a translation:

Friends, I got this email from a spanish girl, who told me she had a story similar with what's happening to us (tattoo, amnesia, labyrinth)!! I don't know wether to believe it, it could have happened AFTER she saw our videos on the internet, but on the other hand she had a postcard with dates, maybe it's a true clue!! Qué opinanque haga? Le contesto? Do these postcards have any meaning to you? I don't have the slightest idea what it could be. Thank you for your help! Diego

Hi Diego, I came up with your hi5 profile by chance and I have something wich I believe can Help you. I don't want to give you false hopes, and I don't know if it's connected, but I'll tell you, and worst case scenario you'll... (sorry, somethings I can't translate, this is being a little difficult - someone with better spanish skills please come and help!).
The first thing is that I don't know you from anywhere and I never was in Argentina. (I live in Madrid, Spain). Sin, embargo, it's not the first time I listen to your story. My uncle-grand father used to tell me something like it when I was little, about something that happened to a man he knew many years ago. The thing is that nobody believed him (auquenclaro, I was very little and I was amused by this misterious stories. But somehow it gave me the feeling he was speaking the truth). It's not surprising that now it happened to you? I couldn't believe when
I saw your profile and your photos. What do you think? If your're interested that I tell you more details about this story about my uncle and you believe I can help ou with anything, don't hesitate to write me to this email. I hope you get your memory back. Kisses, Monica

PD: Attached are several pictures. The first one is a photo of mine, so you see that I'm a trustworthy person Wink The other ones are of a postcard that I scaned and have to do with my uncle's story. More details in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKr7aVo2tcQ

Now onto the video, woof! She talks pretty fast, I just get half of it, i don't know if I'll be able to translate it (if nobody does in the next few hours I'll try).

EDIT: I just saw one of the postcard pictures she sent, it has coordinates, it seems. It says (in spanish):

Quote:
we are here
40.4167, - 3.7033
and here
51.4646, -0.1705
and here
55.6763, 12.5681
and here
42.3589, -71.0568
and here
45.6702, -79.3868
and here
-22.9035, -43.2096

The locations are:
1- Madrid
2 - outside London, to the south
3 - somewhere in Sweden? - K0benhavn
4 - Boston
5 - Canada, north of Toronto
6 - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

If someone can pinpoint better the coordinates, please do.

EDIT 2: Finally uploaded the pictures. Here you have it: http://www.putfile.com/pic/7798491

EDIT 3: thread title clarification

The fifth set of coordinates on the postcard is actually:

43.6702, -79.3868
(you had the first coord as "45")

This is in the middle of Toronto.

So I guess one of the former sets of "six" were from
MADRID
LONDON
COPENHAGEN
BOSTON
TORONTO
RIO DE JANIERO

I can't understand the youtube video. Does Monica say when this postcard is from?

Finally, also written on the postcard is "El Multiverso" -- The Multiverse?? Shocked

OK, thanks for the corrections danteIL. I had some dificulty understanding completely the video, but my guess is the postcard is either from her uncle or the man who her uncle used to tell the story about.

The postcard is from the amnesiac that her uncle met. I made a summary of what she says...

Quote:
Monica tells the story of "El hombre del laberinto" ("The man from the labyrinth"), she tells us that a man was found in 1868 in Stuarthill (I'm not sure of this name), Scotland, in the same manner that our amnesiacs. This man spoke spanish and not english, and had a remarkable tattoo (she shows the tattoo, we should look into that, it's a labyrinth like the one that Diego draws, under it there is a greek word I couldn't make, and then a couple of numbers, 595 and 20), the people from the town helped him to get to Spain, and there he meets her uncle. After a few months, this man leaves her family and goes to London.

Her uncle knows nothing of him until 15 years later, he comes with five other people and tell him that they are working on something called "El codex del anillo perdido" ("The codex of the lost ring"). They give Monica's uncle a piece of this work to hide, part of this is the postcard, and there is more, hidden somewhere.

Okay until we get a better copy from Monica, here is a fuzzy screencap from YouTube of the picture.

It looks to me like the Greek word is:

μύειν

If I am deciphering correctly, this is "myein," which can translate to the verb "to initiate" or "to close" and is the root of the word mystery.

And I think that thing at the bottom is a trident.

I sent an email to Monica telling her the numbers on the back of the postcard were that locations we found out, and asking if she had more information about the codex of the lost ring. I was also going to ask what she though that multiverse thing was but forgot about it, maybe someone can ask her that. We'll see what she answers.

It looks like the number "395" or possibly "895" I'm not sure of the first number. Then a picture of a trident, and then the number 20.

Some playing with Google maps has determined that if you just type in "Rio de Janeiro," "Copenhagen," "Madrid," and "Boston", the default marker location for those cities is the same as our coordinates (i.e., the city center as reckoned by Google).

Toronto and London show up elsewhere, though:

The London coordinates are at Clapham Junction (nowhere near the city center)
The Toronto coordinates are at the intersection of Bloor & Yonge. (near the city center, but not Google's city center).

Monica > Wiki

New wiki page for Monica.

Most important thing now is a transcription, I'd say.

And emailing her asking if it's Stuarthill/Stuartville/Stewartville... in Scotland.

Has anybody written Diego back with what we've gleaned from Monica's info so far??

Postcard

Has anyone checked Monica's postcard against the postcards that came with the packages to see if there's a match?
