I had the occasion to chat with Lucie today, and our conversation was about a theory that came up thanks to a mix of topics on the #lostring IRC channel yesterday. Here's a copy of the email she asked me to send her so she could forward it to the other members of the Agonothetai.

Hello everyone !

I've had the occasion to talk with Lucie today about something that's been on my mind for a few days : one of the documents Ariadne sent us, more precisely the page from New Atlantis on which we can see a penciled explanation of wave forms superimposing and/or collapsing. This drawing, I think, can be the start of an explanation as to how you 6 arrived on our planet. I'm saying "on our planet" because, when reading the Codex of the Lost Ring again, you'll notice that Jorge and his partners don't refer to Earth as their homeworld. He often mentions the fact that one of their goals is to return home, a home that seems not to be on our planet.

For those of you who know a few things about physics, you'll prolly have realized this drawing and the explanations that go along with it refer to the notion of quantum physics and state superimposition. This notions works on the assumption that it is possible for an elementary particle that wouldn't be kept under any outside observation to find itself in two different states at the same time, for example here and somewhere else. Our scientists have been trying for a few decades now to understand how the particles that build our universe can behave that way when taken separately, and behave in a manner like that which we are used to in everyday life, once moving from particles to atoms, objects and living beings.

This is why I believe the 6 come from another world. you might have been sent to Earth for a particular reason, using a transfer method that makes use of the possibility, for unobserved quantum particles, to find themselves in two simmultaneous, superimposed states. In this case, the quantum particles that make up your body would have been placed in a state such that they would have been, for a moment, superimposed between being in their original world and our world, before the particles would "collapse" to a state where you'd arrive in our world only. Lucie mentioned during our conversation that she sometimes feels like she's sitting between the present and the future. Since quantum particles can change from one state to an another in groups simultaneously - litterally faster than light - this might be a side effect of a quantum-based travel ; some sort of temporal confusion, if you will. Have you experienced similar symptoms ?

Of course, given the sometimes chaotic nature of the Universe, one might think this phenomenon could happen "by chance" here and there. However, since there are 6 of you, all following a similar profile, who've been found in similar conditions, I think we can rule chance out. Which, if all this is remotely exact, brings up another question : Who sent you here ?

 		Regarding the feeling of shifting between the present and the future, I've been wondering if the reason Ariadne's goggles and tracksuit look so different is because she is from the future...but it could just as easily be explained by her coming from an advanced world.

We also have to wonder if the six are from one world (not our own, though, so there is still a reference to worlds--ours and theirs, which I guess would then be Atlantis) or six different worlds.

When I first saw the pictures of the tattoos of Jorge and his group along with the similar tattoo on someones(??) left arm I thought....TIME TRAVEL.

Jorge and his group= 20-Trident Symbol-595
left arm person= 595-Trident Symbol- 20

Going from here to there and back kinda thing.....

If you compare them with costumes used by olympic athletes in, eg, swimming, they don't look particularly advanced over what we have here. They're just designed for a different game. A modern high-tech olympic swimsuit would look just as strange and futuristic in a world that had lost the sport of swimming..

thanks for the heads-up, Elizabeth ! I didn't notice this.

Maybe the reason why the last ring is gone missing is because the transfer from one world to another went wrong somewhere - therefore the last traveller ended up in a different time "zone" ? She ended up arriving on Earth a few years before the other, meeting Larissa, and then...What ?
