[RING][ARTIFACT] Ch. 6 (@Brussels, Belgium)

WE'VE GOT IT! CHAPTER SIX HAS BEEN FOUND!!!

Miguel-Angel sent me a facebook message a few minutes ago. It reads:

Subject: Mission accomplished!

Hello,

I found the message!!

It was just a sheet of paper with a message, that was written in french :

DOCUMENT RECUPERE
je communiquerai le code de recouvrement à Lucie et Ariadne.
Si vous en avez besoin avant, le voici
JKC7/C8JB/5ARH/MBM2/3ITE

That means :

DOCUMENT RECOVERED
I'll communicate de covering code to Lucie and Ariadne
If you need it before, here it is
JKC7/C8JB/5ARH/MBM2/3ITE

This game is amazing :p Very good luck for the next adventures

Miguel

The translation, by my reckoning is:

DOCUMENT RECOVERED
I'll communicate the recovery code to Lucie and Ariadne.
If you need it before, here it is
JKC7/C8JB/5ARH/MBM2/3ITE

A link to the document - Chapter 6 - can be found here:

http://164.109.150.213/PRUVO/JKC7/C8JB/5ARH/MBM2/3ITE.PDF

We've done it! We've got Chapter 6. Let's get translating!

That are good news.

So it was still there? No signs of a Minothaurus, Theo or any other bad guy?

[EDIT] I am totally confused. It seems like there was only a note from "unknown". Why has this person not mailed to Ariadne and Lucie, like he/she promised?

No, it was not still there. There was a note left by Someone Else, with the info we needed to get the artifact information. We don't know WHO got the original.

Rough translation

Here's a rough translation:

How to create the walls

The walls of the labyrinth are formed with the bodies of the group of atheletes.

A 3-circuit training labyrinth needs at least 10 athletes, plus the runner.

A 5-circuit training labyrinth needs at least 12 athletes, plus the runner.

A 7-circuit oficial Olympic labyrinth needs at least 15 athletes, plus the runner.

All atheletes, except the runner, stand on the string, forming a wall around the runner.

Excepting that you bring together a very large team of 150 or more, you will not have enough athletes to make the entire labyrinth at the beginning of the competition.

Instead, you will create the walls when they are needed, beginning in the center and accordingly outward. While the runner moves through the labyrinth, the wall moves with the runner.

During competition

When the runner approaches you, turn (become turned).

When the runner goes by you, cease humming.

When the runner is completely past you, go from your play and move as quickly as possible to create more of the wall along the path.

The wall has to move faster than the runner to ensure that the the runner is always surrounded by walls.

Rules

The wall never speaks to the runner.

The wall must never intentionally touch the runner.

If the runner becomes disoriented, the runner may run directly into the wall. The wall must maintain its balance and stand firm.

The Sophrusune (greek) is responsible for ensuring that all members of the wall obey these rules.

No signature? Do we have any idea who recovered the original document?

I wonder if the handwriting matches "Theo's?" Chid12--Is Miguel willing to scan the document, or at least do a handwriting comparison to the docs we have?

I also wonder if the note was left (considerately) by another player, who then (inconsiderately) didn't follow through with informing Ariadne and Lucie.

Weird sport, by the way...all that humming...if we recreate it, someone's bound to make a call asking to have the players carted to a mental health facility.

Everything Miguel-Angel told me, I've told you. I can't really ask him to go back to the restaurant to ask who took the original. He's already done a heck of a lot considering an absolute stranger e-mailed him and begged him to go to a random restaurant to look for documents! But what I can do is ask him to scan the document if possible, and ask whether it's hand-written (is so, ask him if it looks like the writing on the postcards) or typed. I'll do that now.

If it was a game-player that took the code, then why didn't they inform everyone? Or if they did e-mail Lucie and Ariadne, why didn't they tell us!

If it's an enemy, then why did they bother leaving that note?

My suspicion is that another game-player found it, left the message so that any future gamer-players who visited Brussels wouldn't be disappointed to find nothing, and either forgot to e-mail Lucie/Ariadne (muppet!) or did e-mail them, and those e-mails remained unread. Lucie and Ariadne must get a lot of e-mails. Perhaps they missed this crucial one.

In any case, it sets a precedent that those who find these chapters must:

1) Leave a note saying they've found the chapter AND write down the code on this message.
2) Put what they've found either here, on on the wiki and NOT to e-mail Ariadne and then do nothing more.

There is still another possibility.

Mr. X (who took the original) left the note and leaves happily the retaurant for the next computer to mail his success. But on his way he run into Theo and his friends. They took the documents and silence Mr. X's tongue.

So be careful if you are the one who recoveres the next artifact Smile

I feel like whoever left the note could have done so out of thoughtfulness, but who would go out of their way to do that if their intention is just to share it with us anyway? It seems his/her assumption that we would still be looking for it. Sounds fishy to me...

Great work Chid12 and Miguel! The way this chapter explains the human labyrinth matches I think the first META trailer where we see for brief seconds groups of people holding ands and running forming a line (ie the walls of the labyrinth).

Ariadne wrote a blog post about this. She says:

Quote:
We don't know WHO found it, or WHERE the artifact is now. It's kind of strange... someone left a note behind saying they would send word to me or Lucie, but they never did. Kind of mysterious. I'm not going to get all paranoid about it yet, but my visit from "Theo" last night does make me wonder... if anyone gets more information about the original "finder", please let me know!

I'm trying to read something into this from a META perspective, her saying "my visit from "Theo" last night does make me wonder." Does this mean there really is something going on IG, and they want us to find out somehow who took the artifact? We'll have to stay tuned, I guess...

She's also asking for a Chinese translator of the text for Mei Hui, since she's a Sofia...I think we're seeing a trend, here, of them wanting us to keep Mei Hui more in the loop...

Has anyone tried entering the Pruvo code into the Ompha-Puter? I'm getting a "decryption failed" note, saying the site is "unidentified."

This is a game that can be hidden in plain sight? I'm trying to picture 15 people plus a person with a blindfold purposefully running around those practice locations they used in 1918. And who did they get to be the walls, then? Wow.

They could be disguised as an act of some sort, for a festival or a celebration.
