[RING][MISSIONS]Mythopoeia
Team...Green?

Thread for all the other mythopoeia's out there. To discuss our mission. The first one, easy enough. But the second...will we be writing a story?

Quote:
Our misson: Hide our secrets in plain sight
Mythopoeia, your artistic strengths can help us leave traces of our secret mission all over the world.

According to Eli Hunt, it's ancient wisdom:

The best place to hide your secret is in plain sight.

So I say let's start hiding our secrets everywhere we can!

Diego draws his labyrinth, an unknown friend repeats the mysterious demand of our tattoos...

If you hide one of our secrets in plain sight, share a photograph!

16 March 2008 - 8.35 PM

Tell the story! What does the Lost Ring Codex mean?
Mythopoeia, your strength can help us understand the big story.

We need to figure out: What does The Lost Ring Codex really mean?

We're translating the Esperanto. So we know what they SAY.

But what do they MEAN? Can you help us interpret the big story they're telling?

Hi Mythopoeia group,

or should I say "hi Nos" Smile

here is your page in the wiki:
http://olympics.wikibruce.com/Mythopoeia
This place can be used for all important Mythopoeia matters. Especially for linking to new pages.

There is also a link to a "player list". If you want, put your name there, so we know how many "Mythopoeia " we have. (Hopefully more than one)

The first one sounds fairly simple, basically spread the word? Draw labyrinths, scribble or paste Post-It notes with "Truvo la ringon perditan" and an address to one of the forums, maybe?

As for the second one, writing a story... we might be writing more than one story, I think.

First, we may be the ones assigned the task of keeping newcomers up to date; maybe we should be the ones in charge of the "story so far" thread?

Secondly, maybe we have to write the story of what we're doing right now. Like what Jorge did, writing the codex so that future generations of the six would have something to go on (I wonder now if Jorge was the Mythopoeia for his Six...). Writing our very own Codex sounds like fun!! Very Happy

That's more what I was thinking they want from us. Though the story so far thing sounds good too. I think they want us to 'translate' the codex into a more readable form, while adding what is going on right now as well. Which will make for a truely interesting round robin. Wink

Since Diego seems to be our Mythopoeia athlete, maybe he'd like to start first? Very Happy

He could tell the story of how they woke up, where they woke up, and how things went from there, how the Six found us, and from there, we can start chipping in! Very Happy

(Sorry for the overload of smileys in my posts; I emote excessively when I'm excited. XD)

hi. This is my first ARG, but I've been following since the beginning, and have found this quite intriguing. Took the test and joined the Green Team! Go Mythopoeia!

Honestly, I don't think we're supposed to just retell the story, but rather interpret the meaning of each chapter of the codex to the community. You know, make sense of the clues and the text and what not...

Figure out how the clues fit together? Put together the pieces of the jigsaw to form the big picture? I have some speculation on how they might fit together, but there's still some holes here and there, I think.

of course there's holes, we have less then half the story.

My speculation is that this "Codex" was Jorge's Diary, one he kept during the groups travels, and later becoming a place where they would jot down important notes and what not...

Everything else has already been summarized on the wiki and what not

This is sorta what I was thinking. That we have to further 'translate' the codex. That we are completely missing something that should be fairly obvious. We are missing the 'truth' of the matter or something.

Hey, guys, take a look at the end of this thread, about writing our story-so-far in the form of a story to be posted on the wiki:

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=24828&start=30

It's an idea that looks like it could be fun to put together, and would accomplish both your current missions, of hiding the secrets "in plain sight" and helping people understand the "big story."

Anyone interested? I'd volunteer myself, but I'm not part of team green Sad and don't want to take away your tasks, and I see there are other writers here!
