I scored as chariton, with thumos and dikaiosune as secondary strengths.

I work as a map editor, which happily unites my geography and editing skillz into a fine mesh of meshiness.

I like live events, which is why I have been mostly quiet on these forums. I am waiting for some real life interaction. *crosses arms and taps foot*

I make krystyn's evility look like civility.

I am handy with a dagger, if needs be.

I just noticed that every sentence I wrote begins with I. It is all about I!

Sofia!

Definitely Sofia. I love figuring stuff out.

I'm a perpetual student, currently majoring in cognitive systems with a focus on the nature of reasoning, but I have a broad background in cognitive psychology, metaphysics, epistemology, logic, lingustics, and evolutionary biology, as well as some delicious tidbits of computer science and mathematics. Current interests include belief in the paranormal, and collaborative problem-solving.

I know - I'm quite mad.

I also had secondary strength in Mythopoeia - which makes sense, as I love stories - especially ones with interesting puzzles/trivia built into them. I have some skill with writing and communicating strange ideas, as one must in the bizzare world of academia.

I suppose I should get to solving and then explaining the solves, eh?

I'm a Sofia with Dikaiosune & Mythopoeia as minors.

I'm primarily an artist and web designer, although I have a degree in programming. I'm particularly good at making fake documents. Very Happy

I remember some German, but I probably could do as good of a job as the free translators out there. Wink

Dikaiosune
with attributes of Mythopoeia and Chariton.

Hello all! I agree that reading through this thread is really fascinating...

I've been working in the theatre / conference / corporate & community event industry for twelve years now, during which time I did an Honours Degree in Theatre at the local University. Over the years I've designed set, lights, "AV" and sound for various professional theatre productions, as well as performing, directing and production/tour managing. Pity there's bugger-all money in theatre here, hence I'm currently working in a management/administration role at a Lighting Hire/Production compnay.

Highlights of corporate work have included traveling to Japan to work on NZ Day at the Aichi World Expo and going up & down the country projecting video onto buildings to promote a Ballet Tour. While looking after conferences, I've easily seen hundreds of presentations and powerpoints, which has really helped me in preparing my own.

I was born in Montana, but moved to NZ when I was 11. My wife and I intend to move back to the States in 2010 - probably to live and work in San Francisco...

Coming across the ARG medium just before this game began has been fantastic. I've been obsessed by storytelling for years, but have been getting increasingly dissatisfied with conventional theatre... looks like I've found a new obsession. Very Happy

Ah! I will keep this short, but here's a little about me:

I'm Dav Flamerock, I'm 16 (17 in 2 weeks!), I'm a student who loves more than anything biology and creative writing, which leads me to my talents...

MYTHOPOEIA
Which makes sense since I am a writer. I write stories for fun. Go figure, right?

Secondary Sofia
Which makes sense seeing as my ideal profession would be that of a researcher.

And I forget the other secondary, but it wasn't very noticeably special for me.

Mythopoeia
With Sofia and Chariton

Hi everyone, I'm Brenna. I agree with previous posters; it's really interesting to read through this topic and see what a range of people have become involved in this quest.

I'm an aerospace engineer, with a great interest in materials (both metallic and non-metallic). I'm currently working in the composites industry (ie. fibreglass, carbon fibre, etc. for people who don't know) working on aerospace projects, and dabbling in civil infrastructure. In past jobs, I've done everything from scanning maps into digital format using Photoshop to format and locate them, to melting asphalt with nasty chemicals to make sure the contractors are using the right mix for the highway. I am decidedly interested in science and knowledge (there's the sofia, right?)

In my off time, I am an eternal optimist, I love to dance, sing, and take photographs, and I adore reading. It seems that my mythopoeia tendencies indicate that my off time is more important than work (and that's a good thing!) I am a large proponent of doing things with people, whether it's just sitting around chatting or going off on a great adventure (thus the Chariton aspect). Beyond all of that, I love to get involved in a good game, am a happy puzzle solver, and am enamoured of all things scif-fi and fantasy. I am also rather long-winded at times, and enjoy languages!

I suppose last but not least, I am thoroughly addicted to travelling. I lived in Germany for about a year and a half during university, and managed to see a good chunk of western and central Europe during that time. I'm always planning my next great adventure, but alas, my finances don't always allow for these adventures... Laughing

Degree in Chemical Engineering, working now as a R&D polymer scientist for a mineral mining company.

Generally good computer knowledge, and a strong interest in okinawan martial arts. Also part time philosopher/political analyst.

Chariton
with Sophrosune and Sofia

I'm a pedagogics student. Volunteryly working with kids and teens. (that might be the Chariton hehe)

I'm interested in lots of things and always keen to learn new stuff. Most of the time I'm learning new stuff in a self-taught way.

Especially interested in languages, other countries, traveling and reading.

Fluently in german (mother tongue) and almost in english. Have to practise more grammar, tenses and word order but I guess it's understandable.

Thumos
with Sofia and Mythopoiea

I'm a high school student, so I don't really have a job yet (though I will, of course, during summer), but I do have some skills Razz
--basic HTML
--I can translate spanish to english and vice versa
--in the unlikely event that we need anyone to fence, I'm your woman Very Happy
--I live right next to a college
--I know a lot about animals.

I'm guessing only the first two will be of any use, but what the hell Razz I only just jumped into FTLR so I'm still catching up on the stories, etc.

What a great thread! I love seeing how everyone's employed/occupied.

I'm Sofia, with Dikaiosune and Mythopoeia as secondaries.

My job is as 'social media director' for a company that does digital newsrooms and handles content for newspapers and manufacturers. So, heavily communications-based, but it's also about organizing, thought leadership, and research...so I can see the tie-ins.

Chariton
with a dash of Dikaiosune and a pinch of Sofia

Love this thread, what an amazing group!!

I'm currently pursuing a master's in Public Administration. Have done a few Japanese translations of the artifacts over on Noriko's forum (I use the name "EnnJule" there--confusing I know) though I'm more comfortable doing Japanese to English. True to the Chariton spirit, I definitely enjoy the role of bringing people together and planning/collaborating on an event. Live in Northern NJ/NYC area and hope to be able to plan a labyrinth training here in the very near future!!

But I have no sense of direction so please don't leave me blindfolded in a labyrinth.

(This is my first participation in an ARG and I am hooked~)

Ohh, yes, it's definitely interesting seeing what people do outside of the game. :O We have a very talented bunch of people here!

As for me, I'm a Sophrosune with Sofia and Chariton as secondary strengths. I'm currently an undergrad math student. I can speak Cantonese, but not Mandarin (sorry Meihui!). I don't know how to read/write it but I have grammar basics down from being able to speak it and I'm now trying to pick up some skills to help translate texts (even if it's just a little Sad). It's been something I've been meaning to learn for a long time anyway. Smile

Mythopoeia with Thumos and ...I forgot my other one. Sofia, I think.

My day job involves running the most excellent piece of machinery ever: a laser engraver. Okay, all I do with it is make plaques and trophy plates and name badges and stuff like that, and occasionally use it for artsy-crafty purposes on my personal time.

I also have delusions of adequacy as a writer and artist. Gee, I can't imagine how I possibly scored Mythopoeia. Laughing

I know varying degrees of "a little bit" about a lot of things. Smile

Yet another Sofia
With a dash of Sophrosune and a pinch of Chariton

I've got a B.A. in broadcasting operations, and spend my days as a hands-on Production Manager. I've trained in just about every position in a studio and in the field, I've also got a good understanding of the Engineering that glues it all together.
When not at work I play video games, work on my magic (and that isn't an innuendo for anything), go to the pub, or travel.
Love this thread too, amazing to see hat every one does.

hi,

I'm from Melbourne Australia. I study part time while working as a Software Engineering.
I learnt Esperanto over a few months last year from a library book and a local club.

So, my relevant skills are IT and Esperanto.

If you want to pick up some basic Esperanto try: http://lernu.net
Or for an overview of Esperanto check out wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanto

I learnt Esperanto because I was attracted to the ideal of a neutral easy to learn language, as well as the travel opportunities: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasporta_Servo.
So far, using Esperanto, I've been to a youth event in Hanoi Vietnam, and a world congress in Yokohama Japan.

Richard
