Here's the conversation I had with dante in IRC.

Quote:
<brodie>okay. we've decided to put our labyrinth in WARREN, OHIO. that makes it gaea-warren.
<brodie> or, jorge decided.
<brodie> whatever. the location is gaea-warren.
<brodie> now. we skip over to pangaea (somehow! dont ask me how! i dont know!) and sniff around and look for pangaea-warren.
<dante> that was 1908, interesting
<brodie> when we find it, we record its co-ordinates in pangaea.
<brodie> then we come back to gaea.
<brodie> then we find where those co-ordinates correspond to in gaea.
<brodie> which turns out, funnily enough, to be munich.
<brodie> so gaea-munich's location matches pangaea-warren's location.
<brodie> yes?
<dante> re-reading the postcard... yes
<brodie> okay.
<dante> we are "also" here.. and here..
<brodie> exactly, exactly!
<brodie> i'm going to add this convo to my post about the parallel geography to further explain it, i think.

Everyone understanding?

But then why is x and D4 the "special place" all is linked with?

I like the picture explanation of how to align the worlds. And I'm definitely following you. You're right... why not just use the physical coordinates of a location in each world, the other calculation seems unnecessary.

About second postcard, what i can say of Brasilia, is that location of the coordinates is near of the SGO (Setor das Garagens Oficiais), in english, something like "sector of the official garages".

Except, Brazilia was built in 1960 or so, and this postcard is from 1908. I doubt anything was at the Brazlia site then.. Smile

Please correct me if I am wrong, but as I understood the 6 cities from the postcards, only Warren and Madrid are on our world (earth). All other cities are on other worlds.
So it refers not to the Brasil on our eart. On another earth Brasil could alread build hundreds of years ago.

This would also mean, we do not have to look up, what is in the cities (Copenhagen, Brasil, Munich...) on our earth, right?

I think that the second postcard have another world coordinate points... Beacause:
*The Brasilia location (there was not a city there in 1901).
*The postcard was written in november... and is about San Valentin Day (february in our world).

It's not really a St. Valentine's Day card as such. Valentine's Series is the publisher. Valentine & Sons Ltd. That much I found out by looking for the card.
And forgive me if that has no bearing on the point you are making. I feel very un-sophia when the topic is coordinates.

Here's a thought what if we reverse engineer this while keeping in context of the olympics then the giver of light could be the torch bearer. So any one know what the original torch bearers were called? I'm googling but with no luck as yet.

I know the Vestal Virgins were the keepers of the holy flame in Ancient Greek times. I think they lit it at the games as well. I don't think that helps.

Nope best I could find was that they didn't do the torch relay as such but instead, held a sporting event which was a torch relay called "lampadedromia" for wich the victor would win a "hydra of oil" lucky sod! Any ways that looks to be feutile.

I sure wouldn't mind winning a big ceramic vase full of Greek Olive oil- sounds like a good prize to me. It should be "Photine" that is scratched out on the card, shouldn't it, if the card is accurate? And Mabel or Anabel that we are reading penciled in? I think we are off topic, though.

Minor thought

A minor thought:

What if they are all linked by an athletic event?

For example:
Boston's annual marathon started back in 1897.
It typically takes place on Patriot's Day (which was April 19th, until a change in 1969. Third Monday in April)

London and Madrid both have marathons.
(So does Copenhagen)

In Boston, the route of the race may have passed the old State House in it's day (with people lining the route for the sporting event)

(And the Marathon race is based on an ancient Greek story)

Sorry about earlier posts, got my tabs backwards.

The London Marathon doesn't go any where near Clapham Junction unfortunatley. Other than a local Race team they don't appear to have any events that go through the area that involve a foot race. Closest I've found is the "race for Life" which goes through Battersea Park.[/quote]
