I'm guessing Vigenere or substitution. The "Q" mid-way through is definitely an "I" because of capitalization, but that leaves "V", "i"and "O" as lone letters; they can't all be "a" or "I".

I tried screwing with it in Vigenere; couldn't match it to anything. What got my attention is why "Photos" isn't encrypted.

Thinking along the same lines. I'd have to guess it's a Vigenere - since we have four different single letter words, and only two possibilities (I, A), it can't be simple substitution. Photos definitely stands out. Is it not encoded, or just a lucky conversion to a word?

I'm thinking the same way... So depending on which direction you go, decrypt or encrypt, there are four (actually three) possible starting letters... N, V, F, N. Anything in any of the photos begin (or end, because of backwards url) with those letters???

"Photos" might be a hint towards the images on the phone. Can we tell who the girls are in the top-right photo? None of them look like Kristen, maybe Tiffany and Michelle?

If the code is Vigenere, the first letter of the key would have to be V or N in order to decrypt it into an A or I, respectively. Anyone know of any odd words that have come up in conversation with the characters that started with V or N?

OK, I'm guessing that this is a coincidence. I've been trying to guess what the first sentence might be. Guessing 'I need' gives a keyword starting with 'NATAS' Shocked

OH JESUS! (no pun intended)

The text message was sent through txtdrop.com and I tried through my cellphone provider to look at the text online to see if any photos accompanied it, because I'm GUESSING that's what the "photos" meant, although it wasn't linked like in a usual photo message to my phone.

I tried Viginere also, and I got no luck...

Hmm. I've tried both Robert and Marcus for Photos, but I get no real words. I am not sure whether it's encrypted at all, but since it's capitalized it would be a name, surely, if it is?

I've been working on this for quite awhile now. I'm starting to wonder if this may be double ciphered? I did notice that if you ROT13 it, the first letter is "I"? I'm not the best with ciphers, so it may be something totally different.

We're guessing that it's a Vigenère cipher. See Nighthawk's post above for why. A good tool for that is here.

Just a thought...

You were sent a text message, so the single letters might not be 'A' or 'I'. They could also be 'U', 'R', 'D', 'B', etc.... But it might make solving this a bit harder... or easier. I dunno, really!
