That's interesting. Now they are going to come together.
But what should we do?

I guess the idea is we need to find suitable locations, then gather together as many people as possible to participate, and tell the agons about where the training will be. I'm guessing that the more people involved in a certain training session (and, probably, the more metropolitan the area), the more likely they are to participate.
Sadly, I live in an area where the only participants I get will be horses.
I just hope whatever sessions are held show up on YouTube.

Perhaps one way to do this is to start a facebook group?
I have done that as i looked for one and could only find an AP...
This way we can create events that people can send to friends etc and join?

Theoretically, it wouldn't take a massive crowd to play, but it would be a lot easier and more fun.
Based on the video, here are some proposed steps.
1. Trace the classical labyrinth shape on a wide open, flat space such as a park or sports field. (use yarn, chalk on pavement, etc)
2. Gather players to stand on either side of the yarn path to be the 'walls' and hum.
3. Blindfold the runner who begins at the centre.
4. As the runner runs with nothing to guide him or her except memory of the path and the humming 'walls,' the other athletes who are forming the walls race against the runner, by continuing to build the walls.
I would love to see a video of this.
Hmm, I know a whole bunch of kids who might like to play a sport like this. I'll see if I can pull some strings.
(no pun intended)
Any other suggestions on how to practically play this sport?

Chapter 6 (@Brussel, Belgium) detailed rules.....
Hmm, second thought, trying to get rowdy kids to NOT talk to the runner might be difficult. ha.

Hi all,
Someone might already be working on this... at any rate I thought it might be a good idea for us to develop some rules, like a friendly "users guide" for how to run these training labyrinths. I think the myspace page is an excellent Idea, but also we may be able to provide a one page step by step to help us all run these things in a similar fashion, and have some semblance of order! Otherwise I'm not sure much will actually get accomplished. The logistics of this will require some careful planning.
For example, it seems that we should all be on the same page about what people are going to be humming for the runner to know what's happening. Maybe we should come up with a variety of humming codes to direct our runners, and perhaps we can make audio files to share? so we can all know what we would be listening for. This is just a late night brain wave, but it seems that organizing these things is going to require some major planning and organization *not really my strongpoints*

In Ariadne's blog post she has a link to the Wiki which is crossed out using a strikethrough tag.
What's up with that? Are they trying to encourage the use of the Wiki without quite acknowledging it to be IG?

Ariadne's YT page has further details including a link to a yahoo group to organize "Labyrinth Training Events".

Warning: This video has a surprise ending!
What to do next: Now that we know how to play the Lost Sport, we're obviously going to need to teach others about the labyrinth.
So here are three easy steps for people who've never heard of the labyrinth.
1. Find out the history of the Lost Sport:
Check out Eli Hunt's podcast on the Lost Sport of Olympia: http://www.thelostgames.com/1/podcast.do
2. Learn the rules of the Lost Sport:
Read parts 4, 5, 6, and 7 of The Lost Ring Codex, which some of my amazing friends have been collecting and translating on a wiki.
http://olympics.wikibruce.com/Codex _of_the_Lost_Ring ,
3. Sign up to play the labyrinth at a live training event! Or host your own!
I've started an Upcoming group for Labyrinth Events http://upcoming.yahoo.com/group/4360/

Apr 5, 2008: Test Labyrinth Event at Hyde Park

This is not a real training event. It's just a test event. To create a real training event, please join The Labyrinth Training Group and submit an event!
I'm having trouble picturing how 10 people are enough to do this.

1 runner, 8 walls (4 on each side of the runner) and 1 judge (whatzit) to watch for disqualifying events?
that's what I'm imagining, anyway.

....I think it was Chapter 7 which said that Sophrosune(s) are responsible for observing and disqualifying?

It could be a hint for us to set up a IG resource site, for all players and characters to share. Like the wiki, but no Meta. We are after all solving this together with the characters.
Or, they really don't give a damn if it's IG or OOG.
