Location: At this computer, enjoying not having a life

 		I dont think its taking place in japan the people looks way too american during the attack and they have blonde hair obviously and i dont think there are many blonde headed big breasts in japan

and they have english shirts on and there eyes arent really typical japanese

but in the scene where the two characters are walking (the man and the blonde chick)
the monster just attacks out of no where if it was attacking before that im pretty sure they would hear it

i dont get it maybe he can change shapes?

and in the scene where there all attacking him it looks like the exploding attack we know MGP is capable of

actually it was pretty quite in the movie aside from the quakes it made. other than that it could go unheard aside from the guns firing towards it.

No, the point was that my line there wasn't picking and choosing anything. It's always been one monster, besides of course the necessary biological imperitive for there to be at least two others in order to create the beast. But don't tell anybody that, or they'll leap on it as proof that this means Jamie's mother is the alien beast in Kishin that controls Rob Hawkins with slusho. Or something.

Did she use some sort of metal object on that straggler/flea/tick/parasite or did she actually take it's leg and drive it through it's body?

How about every quote from Goddard, Reeves, or Abrams talking about the monster as a singular?

And the mental link is purely conjecture. Even if it is so, it seems due to genetic engineering by the cult as opposed to an inherent power of the monster.

Not to mention that a possible telepathic link has no bearing on whether or not the monster is a gosh darn shapeshifter.


I'll stop short of saying that you fail Cloverfield, since I'm a nice guy, but I tend to think that you were the kind of person who kept adding and dividing all of the numbers on the 1-18-08 pictures to prove that the monster was really five robot lions combined in the shape of Cthulhu.


And to your second assertion, let's be fair here, the monster does seem to have the inborn film-villain ability to sneak up on the protagonists, despite the laws of logic and exactly how loud concrete is when it cracks.

So don't put down grey101's opinion.

the monster. cause they always used to think in the
trailer they shouted "its a lion, its huge" and then
someone made up the line, "its a huge bitch!" and
yeah. self explanatory from there.

No ones "putting you down", it's just the whole quiet thing has been discussed at length sooooo many times, (and it did sneak up on Rob and Beth and Hud at the end of the movie...)
