Washington, D.C. -- Reports today confirmed that Nostradamus, prophet and intellectual, has indeed foreseen the Beacons of Light winning the Pastry Wars of 2008.

"The prophecy has actually been known about since the mid-1960s," said a representative from the Washington Museum of Prophecies and Mumbo-Jumbo. "It was not until recently, when fights broke out concerning the validity of the Twinkie/Ho-Ho skirmishes seen across the Eastern seaboard over the last week, that the prophecy was re-examined in light of the new events."

The prophecy, previously contained in the Washington museum's public gallery, has been moved to the central offices in New York for further examination. Museum representatives say that a full report will be released mid-next week.

According to a photograph released on Tuesday of the prophecy on it's original tablet, the prophecy reads, "Pellentesque eleifend dui. Mauris a nunc. Sed a diam. Sed blandit, dolor eget rutrum euismod, metus justo suscipit urna, ut elementum velit elit at nisl. Nam a arcu et nunc ultrices ultricies. Phasellus volutpat auctor diam. Donec cursus ante sed augue. Duis vehicula mauris sit amet lorem," which, literally translated, means, "The Shadows of Darkness suck. The Beacons of Light are gonna kick their asses for sure."

A spokesman from the Beacons of Light confirmed the reports and gave the Beacon's response at a press conference twelve hours after the information hit the press. "We Beacons have always known that we were definitely going to kick the Shadow's ass. I mean, come on. Look at us. We're totally more awesome and cool."

The Shadows of Darkness have yet to make a statement.

Many thanks to pancito for his work on the wiki. The site's hilarious to browse through even without knowing about the ARG. Razz

OK I wanted to take a moment and post here as this is my 300th post and I want to make the milestone list on the wiki.

First in Regard to the picture of the cats fighting:

The idea of a cat defending the Beacons of Light is laughable, as I am sure that any cat owner has at least suspected at one time or another: ALL cats work for the Darkside.

Second:

The notion that the Beacons DONT Kill, Puppies, Babies, Kittens, Ect...

While that may be true, We Shadows can safely say that WE DONT Kill:

Vampires
Werewolves
edited to avoid possible offense

Can you Beacons claim that?

Lastly

On A bit of a META Note:

Nighthawk,

You have avoided the temptation of posting in this thread because of the TOS that prevent it. And I agree that a PM should not post in the thread for his/her own game. However I submit to you that THIS is not your game. In fact in a very real sense every one posting is the PM of this game which is only related to yours in the fact that we all met after registering for the game you are developing. This game has a much to do with whatever you are developing as Space Balls had to do with Star Wars. While it is possibly (Maybe likely) that this will end with the begining of your game, it might not. In fact this may be the unFiction version of the Spanish Inquistion bit from Python, A running joke that pops up over and over.

So Whats my point? Just that since it would not (in my opinion) be violating TOS, I invite you to kick back, Pick up a pastry and join the war.

fish

OK Thats all I have I return you to Battle.

Shadows Rule, Beacons Drool.

Done.

And don't be ridiculous. I have a perfectly adorable cat who is nothing but loving... Unless someone evil tries to enter her territory. And, well, she DID pee on the blanket last night, but she's mostly adorable. Usually.

Pfft! 100 posts? Who cares, man, that's petty cash.
And who am I, anyways?
When people start recognizing me, and I hit 1000 posts, THEN I'll make some self-serving post.

No one expects... a pastry war?

Shocked Silly

And you know - I'll be honest, I kind of feel guilty. I mean, I kind of set the ball in motion for all of this with my Twinkie bit. I can't help but feel a little bad for the PM, trying desperately to keep up with the expectations.. but if anyone can honestly do it, it's probably him.

EDIT: For accuracy, the first actual mention of baked pastries and goods was by LordIllidan on page one. Something about cookies. But hey, whatever, I'll take the blame for this atrocity.

And this, sir, earns you the order of the chocolate trout.

See here. And the wiki, of course. (You are credited with the first twinkie, so, )

Oh, come on, does that really warrant me a trout?

I'm just sayin', not because I'm stating it as if I was submitting it, I was just.
Ya' know.
Just sayin'.
