Info from Noriko's comment in her forum:
- The postcard and the goggle in an envelope was sent to Miki's clinic, where she was allowed to stay
- The envelope seems to have been abandoned by a nurse
- This made her anxious about Miki's safety, but she decided to leave his clinic
- The postcard made her choose California
- For long she had been wondering whether to keep these things secrets, and decided to make it open
- Now Kai kindly has given her a prospect to stay for a while with his friend's help
- She wants to find what she can do to prevent California's landslide and Neopangaea

The message on that picture could have to do with the tree image of our many worlds multiverse. A neo-pangaea event would cut it all down.
It all comes down to that damned Railroad Industry - cutting down all the trees to make way for a multiverso, single continent railway system.

Finally got the video up. You can view it here .
Couple things to note:
-It was windy as hell.
-I recorded this from a digital still camera in MPEG1 format. As a result Quicktime refused to demux, so I couldn't edit it. This is the raw movie.
-The spec coming from my booming godlike voice I just pulled out of my ....head. Or I think I saw it on some TV show or anime.
Please, be gentle.

Awww...She's so cute! (You guys are too. My favorite part was Ariock saying you all were scared to be out in the open.) Ranger D--I actually like your spec--pulled out of thin air after an awkward pause where it seemed like you probably had no idea what the heck to say. But who knows? It actually might be right.

http://olympics.wikibruce.com/Noriko/meeting/080408-SanFrancisco
I hope you like it
I miss some information: Who is the actual owner of the tattoos and of the goggles? When has the meeting ended?

Re: wiki
I have the goggles and tattoos.
After seeing Ariadne's twitter about Noriko coming to San Francisco with "something to give," I set up the meeting via email. I asked if I could invite others to join us and Noriko said she'd like that. As it turned out, the best part of the SF i love bees crew came along, which made me happy.
I was going to keep all the swag for myself (I am greedy), but after careful consideration (i.e., don't be too greedy), I let Ranger D keep the postcard. I suppose I should give Ariock the tattoos or goggles. HMMMMMMM
Anyway, I updated your wiki page. Thanks for setting it up!

First off, thank you.
Second off, you will most definitely be getting one on April 20th.
Third off, it WAS!
Finally, I do not have control over the space-time continuum. YET.

New video on Noriko's blog--Dreams of Disaster?? Just an FYI, Noriko posted some pics of her and Kai in SF. There is also a photo of her holding the goggles.
http://www.findthelostring.com/noriko/home.do
In her video, she says that she's arrived safely in SF. She realizes that we may be wondering why she left for California and mentions that she had some scary dreams and some other things. She plans to give us more details later; right now, Kai is taking care of her and she is fine.
The text under the video says those "scary dreams and other things" refers to the items that were sent to her friend Dr Miki as well as nightmares she's had of California under a major earthquake/natural disaster.
Hmm... so, perhaps the warning of "Stop now/If this happens in 2008 it will be your fault" is in reference to her GOING to California. Akira and the others went to California specifically because of its propensity for earthquakes, hoping to 'fix' the land movements but maybe ended up causing it (1906 earthquake)??

could who ever has the original postcard do a wax rubbing of it? (you know tracing paper over the original and a crayon rubbed on it's side?) that would reveal the carved marks.
I was thinking the same thing--Some of them look like regular scribble marks, but some are angled in such a way as to suggest they're not quite random. They look a little too simple to be Kanji...But maybe not? Can you see anything in them, unagi?
Sorry I've just now found this discussion (I don't know why I've overlooked). I looked into the largest-sized image of the postcard photo, but I can tell that carved marks looking white are not kanji (chinese characters).

(Unrelated aside: Do we have any idea for whom the postcard was originally written? There's no addressee.)
The Japanese style shows this was not written for a person who is older than the author. I think this is written for a Japanese-speaking friend who knows the old six, like Alfredo. But I cannot deny a possibility that this is written for himself like a diary.
By the way, this Japanese writing style appears fairly modern (I mean, the style was totally changed at the end of World War II in Japan), considering it was written in 1906 or so.

There are so many differences in the writing style between the old and modern Japanese, so the postcard's style is obviously modern. For example, the ninth character of the fourth line and the ninth character of the tenth line are both small, but this is very specific to the modern Japanese-writing style. In older days they were written in the same size as the others.
OK, so Japanese in Jorge's world used the modern writing style much earlier!

Ariadne's posted in her forum that she's trying to understand what's happened with Noriko...Not sure if she's talking about N's recent blog post about her meeting with Kai, or about something that's happened more recently. Here are a couple of Tweets Noriko posted today, and a really, really rough translation. Can anyone fix it? The first mentions wanting to set up a labyrinth training in Japan. And in the second, she mentions Rivenor's (Ennjule's) attempt to find the NY artifact, but it's hard to tell what she's saying:
Quote:
