i remember seeing a sword somewhere related to Cloverfield, and this is not important or anything jsut throwing it out there; but the guys who kidnapped the boy in kinhis #3 were using a sword. Only reason that stuck out in my head is becasue swords aren't comonly used any where. either way just a thought.

Cloverfieldclues.com has received its dvd, and it seems the sword logo is from the governement:

Could it be that the governement has ceased/blocked all the cloverfield websites (for research), hence the logo everywhere? The logo is turned differently here, and it has been pointed out that it looks like a six.
