I'm still hanging in, waiting to see how they resolve the various issues. Good concept, tough questions which will probably require teamwork as we get further in, and I'm glad to see they are trying to respond to the problems. But it seems like there have been a lot of glitches so far, Multiple emails, people getting left off of lists, etc. I know it's a big project, but...

world news hour began with an overview of topics and the first thing that came up was a rough black and white picture of Robert F Kennedy entitled "RFK assassination".
about new forensic something, questening "40 years later, who killed him in fact" or so
for a moment i was a little shocked or paralysed

Oh I am not giving up. I didnt even REALLY mind the blog that much even though it clearly had its problems. It reminds me of the Chat room from PO, everyone some people complained about how badly it worked and then in the after game chat they said it was one of thier favorite parts of the game.

Personally I think it is silly that it is password protected but since it is and since its not my password to share I will only be able to direct you to the person that set it up. Send a Private message to brodie (brodie wrote the first post in this thread if you go to page 1 you should find a link to PM brodie) Ask brodie for the password. Thats how I got it. I would like to see it posted on this thread, I just dont think it would be right for me to be the one to do it.

Ads were placed in several different mediums. Crumpled fliers in the Dallas airport; business cards; employment agencies.

the registration process

First, when you put your email into www.therivardproject.com, you received an email saying that your application had been received and that you would be contacted in a few hours.

A few hours turned into a few days, then the second email arrived. It prompted you to re-register, giving you a proper log-in into the game. Once again, you were told to wait - this time, for a 'ranking' questionnaire.

This second email also had a link to an mp3, which can be heard here: kill.mp3.

The questionnaire arrived several days later. To access it, you had to put your browser security to the very lowest setting (making some people jumpy, *cough*me*cough*). It had several questions, as questionnaires do. When you answered those, you found that your answers were saved to a file and you could edit them any time you want.

You must register by April 10 (my birthday! It's a sign!) to become a member of the team.

oh, that's right! another thing:

We're going to be divided into teams. FBI vs. Cosa Nostra (Mafia). Nothing like a good ol' competition to get the conspiracy theorists going, eh?

and one more thing, recently discovered:

The website Another Side of the Truth, which previously showed a countdown to the date of the 45th anniversary of JFK (22nd November, 1963), now linked to the kill.mp3 and a flashing picture of a woman. In the source code, it now reads:

And so, the game begins. Post all your stuff here (for now, at least; who knows what we'll do once we're in teams?).

UPDATES

April 11/12: Team-confirming emails have been received (some people received more than one, which is interesting, and some people are on both teams, which is even more so). The teams are, apparently: COSA NOSTRA, FBI and WITNESSES. Check out the IRC chatrooms (above) to meet others on your team! (Except Witnesses. They don't have one. Sucked in! Naw. PM me if you guys want one.)

April 13/14: First Mission received by both teams. Questions seem identical... and one or two are quite difficult... Discuss in IRC with your teammates!

"Following a series of very explicit warnings that the information we hold would likely lead to an increase in conspirationnist actvity, we understood, and later confirmed, that our HQ was bugged. We have decided to move all FBI personel to a new HQ.

 		OK, so we got a working site. Still not flawless (I've already found a couple of 404 errors in it), so you can tell it was thrown up quickly, but at least they're recovering from their past errors.

This French/English cross-posting is confusing...

 		It is a little confusing trying to explain what are likely OOG events in IG terms. But you have to admire the effort.

I am assuming that I will find my email waiting for me when I arrive home from work but I suppose only time will tell.
