noone has commented on this artifact.
Someone want to find Robert's cafe? Maybe pictures and/or maps and/or directions?

The only person on eclipseyue's map in Copenhagen is listed as Adam/Harlequinade

I think the following URL would be useful:

This one's claimed by Muumin, another newbie! God we're good at sucking in the people we need! Razz Code is coming.

Code: http://164.109.150.213/PRUVO/VE49/5R21/IVA2/214R/K117.PDF

Something to do with 'The Danger of New Pangaea', I think?

[disclaimer: mi estas komencanto. I am a n00b, take this with a huge grain of salt until someone who actually knows what they're doing translates this thing]

What I gather is that "Neopangaea" is the form the worlds take when the natural synchronization happens, and as far as I can tell, it's like wiping everything out and starting over.

Urboj detruigas, popolog dismetigas, kulturoj perdigas, kaj la vivomaniero por preskau ciu persono lastia vivanta post la sangigo estas por ciam sangita.

That last bit I'm not sure about, but it starts off with "Cities will be destroyed, nations will vanish, cultures will be lost," and I think "and the way of life of almost every last personalive after the transformation will change."

tl;dr: Neopangaea = do not want. D:

I don't believe so. For example, we have previously seen "yes" and "no" and "up" and "down" and such handwritten in English in Chapter 11.

Some possible SPEC:

The Esperanto (and the Greek, I guess) represents the original documents as put together by Jorge et al.

The English notations are latter-day additions written by whomever hid the artifacts in their current locations. The providers of the Western Maryland Railway envelopes.

Make sure when you type out Esperanto, you find some way of representing the special characters (whether the h system, x system, ^ system, whatever) because there is a HUGE difference between the -ig- ending and the -iĝ ending Wink

The translation itself was pretty good. Smile It should actually read in the present tense (make sure to pay attention to the verb ending: -as meaning present:

"Cities become destroyed, nations vanish, cultures lost, and the way of life for almost every last person alive after the change is forever changed."

Here's the Chapter 13 in English

Chapter 13

The Danger of Neopangaea

For centuries, pan-cosmologists were confused by the relatively few types of Earths being observed through the omphaloi net. Why would there have to be only six variations, when billions and billions of worlds exists? Isn't it true that there must be billions of different continental formations?

When pan-cosmologists started observing with the omphaloi, they discovered that mostly the worlds were in a Pangaea form. The next biggest group would be Gondwana, followed by smaller groups in Nuna and Kenorland forms. The smallest groups were Gaea – which is the form in which we six currently live – and Neopangaea.

Over time, however, pan-cosmologists noticed that the number of worlds being observed which were in the Neopangaea state grew dramatically – and the number of each of the other formations, with the exception of Pangaea, became a lot smaller.

Not until the early 18th century could pan-cosmologists explain these two mysteries – the very small number of possible states and the frequent changes in the distribution of states.

The Theory of Rapid Continental Change

In 1726, an alliance of scientists working throughout the coordinated worlds proposed a theory to clarify the six variations. They theorised that the form of a continental structure serves as a natural synchronising method for the many worlds when the multiverse approaches (comes close to) its Upper Limit.

According to this theory, reality constantly reorganizes the land-formations of the earth in six normal forms so as to most quickly remove very large number of differences across the varied worlds. The result of these changes is a rapid reduction in the sum number of simultaneous world.

Rapid Continental Changes, therefore, most probably occur when reality comes close to its maximum number of simultaneous worlds.

And the default direction of change seems to be to a state of Neopangaea.

Outer Worlds

When the universe starts to become too different too different from many other worlds, often as a result of the ongoing evolution of human civilisation, it was that, which pan-cosmologists called "Outer World". The more 'outside' the world, the higher is its risk for a Rapid Continental Change.

According to the scientists' calculations, worlds in the state of Gaea are currently at risk of a Rapid Continental Change. Compared to the billions of other worlds, it is those few that exist as Gaea-worlds that are simply in a state of Gaea that already create a high amount of danger of become different. On the other hand, worlds in a state of Pangaea can break apart according to many, many non-geological methods before they face the same degree of risk.

Previously, geological science in the world in which we are now found proposed a theory of continental drift which is similar to the pan-cosmologist theory of Rapid Continental Changes, with one main exception. The theory about a continental drift on Earth proposed that billions of years must pass for the continents to move. But through the omphaloi, pan-cosmologists observed a very different scenario.

According to visions at the omphaloi, the change occurs, in fact, apparently in a moment; it is a massive geological change in only the blink of an eye. Scientists watched the event, and the influence of such a quick change to human civilization can be ruinous beyond the ordinary. Cities are destroyed, peoples displaced, cultures lost, and the way of life for almost every last person who lives after the change is changed forever.

Therefore it is more and more important for pan-comsologists to look for worlds at risk, worlds which are more and more different from the many others, so that they can intervene and reverse the change.

We now believe that for this reason, we were sent to this world to find ways to decrease the number of differences by means of human synchronisation methods, before this world is dragged into a state of Neopangaea.

Oh jeez. I was thinking about that when I was typing it out, that I was going to go back and put in the x's once I got the meat of the passage down, and then my brain made deflating-balloon noises and went somewhere else. ^_^;

...I will blame the ridiculously overhuge glass things I had to engrave today, which did not actually properly fit into the engraver and which I had to come up with crazy arrays of wood chunks, no-slip mat, and taped-together stacks of poker chips to make work.

Thank you very much for your great job, Chid! I am glad that only minor corrections have to be made for my Esperanto-Japanese translation of (1/2) at wiki. I'll start Japanese translation of (2/2) from your English translation now. Thanks a lot!
