My guess on why Phillip Gairden has a MetaDex-account is as follows:

Phillip Gairden is a University professor on archeology.
He is the editor of PRJ and has written an article on Stonehenge.
He is obviously a big fan of Plato.

Gairden is hence an archeologist with a special interest in ancient civilizations. The only reason MetaCortex would take a professor in as an employee is because of his specific knowledge: ancient history.

Ergo (couldn't resist it...) the MetaDex-project could be a computer product that finds or explores ancient civilizations, which could connect it with Atlantis, a civilization Gairden should be familiar with.

Thoughts?

But Gairden isn't a MetaCortechs employee AFAIK, he just uses their MetaDex software...

Just checking up on my history...

The so called location for Atlantis was near that crescent shaped island in the Mycenaen Sea right? Just north of Mycenae? At some point, like I think 500 BCE a volcano erupted from it that was so violent, some historians thought that it may have contributed to the fall of the Mycenaen civilization (along with invading barbarians).

But weren't ashes found as far east as India or something?

Thats a pretty important moment in history if you ask me.

Revalation?

I was thinking... what the hell would Atlantis have to do with ANYTHING...

And then I got to thinking... Atlantis was this mystical city underwater that was hidden away and no one knew about...

What if Atlantis is just a metaphor for Zion??? An underground city where people are truly free?

I'm pretty surprised that I came up with that all by myself.

Talk amongst yourselves.

it depends on what myth you take of Atlantis.

Some people still believe it was a city (not necessarily underwater) that was a civilization before mesopotamia, egypt, etc...
that had advanced greatly for its time. They had built flying machines, erected great monuments, etc...
But they became obssessed with changing weather patterns and tried to use some telekinetic power in the form of an earth mover, which resulted in the earth erupting and sinking them miles below sea level. Smile

But there definently is a connection between this and Zion, if anything. I mean maybe what were going to find out is that Metacortex wants the whole place operated by a first batch of AI?

no one has come up with this idea, but couldn't it be that Phillip Gairden and Stones Jeffreys are TWINS? That would explain the fact that Phillip is using the Metadex pre-beta version...his brother might have asked him to test it.

Or maybe Stone Jeffreys is an ai version of Phillip Gairden (or vice versa). Perhaps Phillip realized that with his new appointment as editor of the Paranormal Journal he would not be able to concentrate both on his career and his wife. So, he comissioned a duplicate version of himself from a company, (let's call them Belladerma just for the heck of it). He sent the duplicate version (The Step Self) to spend time with his wife, while he could concentrate on his work. Unfortunately in time he will realize that his wife will start to love the ai version more than she ever loved him.

Or something like that... Wink

I'd just like to bring it up again that in the myths Atlanteans are thought to be descendants of Poseidon - somewhat divine, or not quite human themselves. It was (according to Plato, as well) only after they started messing around with humans that Atlantis sank (possibly as a result of the punishment of the pantheon).

Which keeps throwing me back to AI and the Merovingian.

Remember the Animatrix "and man created machine, and it was good"? It sounds like it's taken right out of Genesis, as well as has a pagan/gnostic connotation of something along the lines of "man's arrogance will bring about its own demise."

What if the Merovingian is behind the creation of Aquapolis in some way, so now we have a god-like Architect, and a god-like Merovingian - a clash of religious pluralism of sorts, but each involving the "created" becoming the "creator"?

its possible, from the scenes out of Revolutions we see that they are in deed hiding 'underground'.

The Merovingian would need a layer that is well secured to survive each Reload.

Atlantis (depending on whose books you read) was a city where people were supposed to be truly free, yeah? Name another city where people a re free. The "last free city"even... Zion?

Atlantis sank becuase the Atlanteans incurred the wrath of their gods... Zion is going down (in Reloaded, anywho) becuase the humans incurred the wrath of the Machines... And lets face it, the machines are truly god-like in the Matrix...

Just food for thought...

Styles, those two jpg's in the files are what's in the background of the Metacortex wall paper, available on their site. The first one is one that someone here did, keeping more of the original color. The second, with enhanced color and all the binary stripped off, is one that I pulled off of a Yahoo! group.

I like the twins idea, actually. And yes, Stone or Phillip are probably not the Merovingian (either of them).

Ah, yes, I'm sorry for not giving credit to Chinghis for that picture (forgive me Sad ), and the second one, I think, Marl64 found (?).

Ok here is what I know about the merovingians and there is link to atlantis. The merovingian bloodline legend was started by a woman i'm not sure the name but she was supposedly impragnated by a sea searpent or a creature called the leviathan. The marovingians also claim they are the direct blood decendants of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdaline and take claim to a holy god like royalty.
Also I noticed on the Wangmo site you see a sundial by the ocean made up of rings one inside the other on the events page. And also the learn page has a color cologue of red, white and black plato discribes atlantis land as being these colors Question Question Question Question
