Interception turned into rescue mission. Iraq forces overwhelmed Team Hope at 32 deg. 29 min. 3 sec. North 47 deg. 30 min. 10 sec. East - edge of Iraq inland naval arena.

More than 30 Iraqi nationals closed in on Team Hope's three members in rough terrain North West of Iraq route 6/Al Amarah.

VG forces moved in for rescue attempt. Firefight ended with 21 Iraqis dead, 10 VG team dead.

Of Team Hope, C. Thompson confirmed dead. Kronos slipped away during the fighting, no body recovered, search is continuing.

Eyewitnesses report B. Hope placed some object around her neck (artifact?), personally heard subject shout "NO! Take me home Salamis." Three witnesses to flash of what appeared to be lightening and what seemed to be disappearance of B. Hope. Thorough searching turned up no body. As with Agamemnon Cronides, search continues.

Necklace not recovered from personal effects. Two cell phones, one laptop, three field notebooks and rucksacks with personal items for Thompson and Hope recovered. No personal effects for Kronos recovered.

Well, I guess we know what the necklace could do. Is this it?

Fee is pretty much in shock, but she's calming down. I asked her to call Jay and Sherry from work, and let them know that I am safe and home. Obviously, I can only tell people I trust with my life that I am home, as VG will undoubtedly want to at least speak with me, if not kill me. I really have nothing to give them. As quickly as the necklace transported me here, it disappeared. I have no idea where it is at this time, but I do know that follow up will be on my mind once I've had a vacation free from people trying to kill me and mine. I hope that it returned to Plataea and Salamis, or maybe it returned to Gorgo or Kornos 1... I really don't know. I have a feeling that it wouldn't have been what Mr. Q wanted anyway. It was a leather medicine bad type necklace. Very old, and it had been patched quite a few times, most of the patchings as old as the bodies we were looking at already. Hanging from a thong attached to it, was the wolf's fang that had been capped with bronze and inset with a very small band design containing chips of amber and onyx.

Fee read me the final intercepted emails from Lara's posts... I really couldn't add much to that, except to say that we had actually made it to the "gazelle lake" that you pointed us toward, the day before we were ambushed. We were heading back to make arrangements for gear to camp out in the area, when we were attacked. We did find a good location, that seemed to fit every description of the pillars and cave. We just didn't have time to get into it. I lost my field books in the "disapperation" as Fee calls it, but I am almost positive that in the future, I have enough information to find and retrieve Mycale for the Order. Unfortunately, while I am not ready to give up on that quest completely, I will have to wait until a time when things are much more stable in the area to try that again. I'm not convinced that even going in with American Forces would be safe, since now it's becoming failry clear that VG may have sources inside the US government as well as with forces from other countries.

For now, I do wonder what became of Aga, and I will watch for word that he made it out alive. Many tears are a given, as I truly admire that man. If any one can find his way through that hostile region and find his way to his own home, it will be Aga. I hate not knowing, the same as I hate not being able to post outright in my journal that I don't have the necklace, or that I am alive... But right now, it's all too hot. I can't see them not going after Aga any more than they would leave me alone, if they knew where I am. For that reason, I will be going underground for quite awhile. I have plans to move outside the US for a time very soon, and I believe the Altai may become my home away from home for a year or two, at least.

Well, there's not much more I can add dear, Jacks... I thank you for your brilliant work, your loyalty and your dedication to the expedition and for all the times you saved my butt with your quick thinking and good advice.

If we don't speak again soon, know that I'll be thinking of you fondly until we do! There is still one of "The Four" missing, and she needs to find home herself....

My many thanks to Arcas, Degravedi, Jacks, JSonpo, konamouse, natas, Nighthawk, sarge2552 (who found the ARGNet piece), Wolfhawk, and everyone that came by/played along/aided the game.

This was the first time Jay and I had attempted any type of CF/ARG and we are blessed that you guys hung in there as we figured it out, learned our way and made the dumb mistakes that pretty much almost imploded the game, at least from our side of the curtain, if not yours (hopefully???!!!???)

I'd love to chat! Just let me know some good days and times, and let's do it. Weekends are good.

 		I thought you guys did a great job. In light of the fact that this was your first one, I now think that you did an awesome job Brownie It was a great story with appropriate puzzle placement. I liked the character depth as well.

A weekend evening/night chat would be good for me, but I'm open to suggestions.

You know we'll be around. Laughing We both have a taste for the ARG/CF world and one thing that was killing me, was that some of the other ARGs that are going on had me hooked, but I didn't want to create an account or post, and possibly slip, thus going against the TOS for PMs.

I have been trying to get into the official UF IRC chat rooms, to set up something, but alas it has thwarted me... I set up two different versions of chat rooms on http://hiddenhistory.wordpress.com/. I think the "ANOTHER CHAT ROOM" will allow anyone to chat without a registration or download. Not too sure 'bout that Meebo chat yet.....

If it's cool with you, Jacks, and anyone else that would like to chat, let's shoot for Sunday, around 5pm Eastern Time/2pm Pacific Time, if that's okay. If there's a better time this Sunday or Saturday, just name it. Working from home has it's advantages. Wink
