i want to believe this...we've all been through a wild ride of spoon fed clues and dead ends. part of me hopes this is real only for the answers it gives us, but after the hacking and no other sites being updated i worry. and if it is real, it's almost a closure to a lot of the things we've been following. i'm almost ready for closure at this point. i love cloverfield (movie and online) but i can't keep up with the sparce clues and little to no reward. where will the arg (lack of a better term) end? between incosistency with dates and plot, it just seems like the puppetmasters (and even JJ and co) really have no idea where all this is going.

JJ and Reeves stated that they dont do the viral, but that would be weird and you know why? If those people who DO make the viral come up with something like: The attack got covered up as a terrorist attack, then JJ has to something with those ideas to make a sequel. So they are actually making dead ends for JJ.

i'm reminded of the Family Guy episode where Peter leaves clues for Lois on their anniversary which eventually leads Lois back to the beginning of the clue hunt. she makes a comment like "well this isn't very creative at all." don't get me wrong, i've followed with great enthusiasm from the start of all this as most of you have. we have gone from clever marketing to an unnofficial background story that may or may not even be real in the creators vision. with this recent hack on the MTH site, and all the approved posts (seems questionable the puppetmasters would approve a comment directly referring to the movie) we are back to stage one of questioning everthing that comes down a pipeline that may or may not matter....damn everyone at Bad Robot for making a "typical monster movie" so freakin captivating

Yeah, those comments like "I saw teddy on the bridge! Look at Rob's tape!" are really dumb. I cant imagine that the "missingteddyhanssen" people approved this.

b) among the other crazy posts you will find one that says only "aladygma"

I completely quit reading them when I saw that one. Not that I believed the posts before that one.

here's the thing, if this was fake or the site was hacked again, why would there be 38 post in the comments from the working on a new lead: and 6 posts on the cannot find the username and password.

"Jean Pierre Tujour". we have another Tidowave member. The name might be fake though. Tujours is 'toujours' phoneticly. It means "always".

BTW: it's pretty plausible that it was said that 'terrorists released a monster'.

The first letter, from Vincent Volker begins "... My name is Vincent Volker..." It is then signed "Anonymous" - That's a little off, wouldn't you say? Also, it does have several mispellings ("ansi" instead of "antsy", and the use of "i" instead of "I" as is proper). This seemed odd to me in light of the fact that he is a marine biologist. One would suppose a marine biologist went to university and would be able to spell correctly. I do not, therefore, believe he is who he says he is.

What if the terrorist attack they talk about is the attack on Ganu that happened in New York rather than the Monster attack itself. It would seem more plausable if that were they case, as it has been mentioned that there would have been footage of the monster all over the place and the person in the email was going to attempt to meet him that day. And since the timelines do not match up, this could be in reference to the TIDO attack on Ganu, as they are considered an ecoterrorist group. Just a thought.

This feels... wrong. It attempts to wrap up too many loose ends too quickly, and it doesn't do that in a particularly good fashion.

The way I see it, this can be one of three things:

1) The MTH blog is completely OOG.

2) The MTH is, or was, IG and someone breached it and posted something not approved by the PMs.

3) The MTH is IG, and this post served to wrap up the loose ends. In other words, they are attempting to bring closure to the experience, and rather quickly.

Of all of the above, #3 makes the most sense right now. They have no timeline for the second movie, so it's rather pointless to keep spending the resources to drag this ARG on. Face it, people; it eventually has to end, the mystery has to conclude.


I have a competely oddball question regarding this because I haven't been following all this well: what EXACT proof do we have that both MTH and the USGX sites are IG? MTH opened the door to USGX, but they both have not been CONFIRMED to be IG, have they?

The info on the USGX site was based on information on the DVD, which was arguably available well before the date it hit stores. It is theoretically possible that someone with a pre-release copy (and we know they did exist) created these sites before the DVD went commercial on store shelves.
