No Fringe ARG yet... but check out FringeTV.blogspot.com for the latest Fringe News until then...

Not to get OT, but for those that don't know, FRINGE is the new JJ Abrams TV show that will be starting August 26th. In a nutshell, it is like a cross between X-Files, House, and Alias.

OOOOOOOOOOOO so THATS what that is... I remember a couple threads back, when some disgruntled anti-JJ-ist was talkin about how JJ ripped off X-files or somethin along them lines. That actually sounds kinda cool, im bout to google that shnit right now...

I know it's OT, but thought I'd look at the Fringe posters. Lights behind certain letters and sybols in each of the posters, came out with Green Slash or Slash Green.

http://www.greenslash.com/ website "coming soon" with nothing particularly obvious as to who is running it. WHOIS suggest registered in November '07 so more than likely nothing to do with it. There's no obvious tracker on the site and I've no idea why it'd be related to Fringe, but stranger sites have come about in viral marketing I suppose.

Why do you think that? Because the movie wrapped up so nice and answered everyone's questions?

I dont think you understand me, im saying that they can't leave the viral like this, allot of people are following it and would be pissed off when they just.. cancelled it. And the movie isnt the viral, the viral is for the movie.. or something like that.

we're all just patiently waiting for new stuff.

i don't think anyone should just get angered about it and "throw in the towel". as long as the fans are there, then we'll always have stuff to speculate, and to me that is fun Very Happy

i know that the game is slowing down to a trickle, but that might be indicative of the fact that the only people still being so rabid about it are folks like us. the hype is dead, the craziness is gone, and now there's just us. they want to keep a strong fan base, becos they WILL make a goddamned sequel, so they'll give us the tiniest bits of stuff here and there.

otherwise, why make all of this online content that is so seemingly unrelated to the film? somehow, it'll come together. whether it's next year or not, it all will. if everything was said and done, you'd almost think that they would leave it be. take down the sites. whatever they do when stuff like this ends.

but from what i see, that not even two weeks ago we got those chuai station photographs, that this isn't done yet. it's just slowing way down.

I don't even think it's slowing down, i think people are just getting more impatient. Over summer we waited multiple weeks for updates, finally giving them to us when all hope seemed lost.

To be honest with you, I am not even sure why it is still going on. Wasn't the point of the ARG to get us interested in the movie. Then get others intrested in the movie. It seems like a good viral campaign is a lot cheaper than showing commercials on tv every fifteen minutes (like that new Adam Sandler movie). What is there left to sell? Maybe the sequel, but that is a long while from now, if there actually is one. Why keep paying a company to run your campaign when there is no more money to be made? I am not saying this is over, I am just asking a question.

The point of the ARG was to promote the film. The point of the MissingTeddyHanssen stuff was to promote the DVD release. The movie is out, the DVD is out. The Manga is out. The only thing left is some DVD releases in other countries (hence the Australian videos), and the Blu-ray release. However, I don't know that a re-release in Blu-ray will be enough reason to do anything new.

Yes, but leaving things unanswered in a movie is okay, because we get viral. But leave viral unanswered seems a bit stupid to me. So i wished they just continued for the fans.

not even continued, they could have just wrapped it up in one day sometime after the DVD release was over... it could have been pre-made, so it wouldn't cost a dime post-release...

as far as the lack of additional clues is concerned, i just got my slusho gear today... no secret messages... Sad
