Reloaded occurs six months after Matrix1, in the real world. I think we can assume that Matrix time runs the same as real world time, or else we'd have had some kind of indication that it doesn't, by now. I forget what the date was on the search tracking message at the end of M1, but it was sometime in 1999. So we're in 1999/2000 Matrix time as of Reloaded. Does that sound right?

Is this a theory of do you have a reference to it.

I recall one of the cast saying something like this in the "Making of" documentary, but actors say a lot of things.

For Example Hugo Weaving said "Smith is, to all intents and purposes, Human" whatever that means.
