eh, the whole 'being stored in the tanker' theory is old... and a bit ridiculous. There's no rational reason why they would put that thing inside a tanker. I mean, perhaps the parasites were producing the "seabed's nectar" or something... Kinda like bees. Who knows. I wonder/hope the other editions shed some more light on this whole thing. I mean, I don't care where the mom is, or if it even had a mother. I just want to know where it came from: earth or space. At this point, I realize that very little of the online viral stuff played any REAL direction as far as what happened in the movie... And yeah- J.J. Abrams said that it's been in the ocean for thousands of years... but that's not in the movie. The only hint that the general public has is that an object fell from space at the very end of the movie.

Theres no dead mommy monster on 1-18-08
Theres a dead boat, dead fish, dead whales, and the military attacking clover on his way to Manhatten.
It would explain two things

1. Why the monster didn't show up 'till had swum all the way trough the relatively small water access to NY..

The Military had been tracking and attacking it for days before it reached NY, thats what the pictures on 1-18-08 show, the monsters path from Chuai to Rob's party. Thats also why the military response was so quick, and why they hit Clover with the first air strike over land as soon as he hit the relatively clear and deserted (at 1130 at night) area of the park outside City Hall. (the explosion seen from Robs party)*

*The preceding paragraph is admitably speculation based on all the available evidence and logic.

Given the sonar images I aways assumed that Clover swam to Manhattan. Does the DVD show animation of him swimming at all cause that's one thing I've always wondered about. I would think it swims similar to a croc, mainly using it's tail for propulsion and with it's arms along it's body.

Also, I guess that curled into a ball position (if that is how Clover is hatched or whatnot) disproves my old tadpole theory.

Here's an idea:

Who's to say that Tagruato discovered the Baby Monster, hauled it to the surface, shoved it in a tanker and sent it on its way to New York. Momma Monster finds out that baby monster is missing, goes on a rampage, destroys Chuai Station and high tails it after the ship, tracking the scent of her brood. Military hones in on Momma Monster and attacks her, eventually killing/disabling her. Tanker makes it to New York, but becomes unstable and capsizes in the harbor due to weight of Baby Monster. Baby Monster wakes up and bursts from the tanker, making it explode and sending pieces of it flying everywhere.

No they don't.

We even found the source image of the whales they photoshopped the bite marks into.

The picture is of 3 whales dead on a beach.

Hey party peeps. This is my first post of hopefully many. I have been lurking around here since I saw Transformers all those months ago in the theater. My thoughts on this thread is the potential size of the monster fully grown. Now that we know it was a baby, Damn! Most animals can grow 2 to 3 times there size from infant to adult. That would make one big ass grumpy pants.
