Thanks for the info. I finally figured out that it was the program I was using and then realized I had Adobe Soundstudio so that's all fixed now.

I personally like PodPress, too, but it requires a WP install and a server.
I'll host if needed.

A cursory google search for free podcast hosting turns up:
www.podbean.com
www.mypodcast.com
www.wildvoice.com
Can any web people out there comment on viability of doing this on the free? Or should paid hosting really be recommended?

Right now I'm trying Podbean. If that doesn't work I'll probably send you the file redct.

AWESOME. In the future, let me know and I'd love to help. I have loads of recording equipment and such. I may (or may not) also get skype, if that is what you'd prefer.

The first podcast will be available on itunes within the next 24 hours and is currently available at http://cineball.podbean.com/. Go ahead and listen to the first cast and let me know what you guys think. What should I do next? Where do we go from the jumping off point?

I don't have skype yet, but I'm downloading it now just to test it out. As you can now tell from my recording, I've got that covered on my end to a workable degree, but if you want to record some of your own stuff for the cast, by all means. Maybe we could get together every once in a while and do some collaboration.

Awesome. How often will you do this? I'll certainly contribute. Let me know if you can/want to collaborate. Otherwise I'll just pop in with files you can play/add to it (I'm not sure how it makes the podcast, if you can just add an audio file in or you actually have to play it or whatever).

Yeah, it's actually really easy to add a file you send me. I just have to drop it into the recording I make and we've got a field report. I was thinking of putting out a weekly, with supplements every time something major happens in the multiverse. Now that I know just how easy this is I'm gonna be podcasting like CRAZY.

Sorry redct, I meant to throw in a line as to your message too. Where are you located? I'm sure I can use reports from all around if you want to either record something yourself or send me a news story to read. Or if you have any other way you want to assist I'm always glad to receive help.
I also want to find a musician within our ranks to put together some brief intro music. Just about 5-10 seconds to give it a bit more professional sound. If anyone knows someone that either plays an instrument or knows music software enough to make something, I'd definitely at least give them a shout out in my episodes.

Yeah, I think pushing for "this just in" will be: 1. too much work, 2. not helpful to new players, who are already overwhelmed with information when they try to jump in. I was thinking something along the lines of a chronicle, a "this week in the Find the Lost Ring journey" thing. Summarizes all that's happened in the past week for us and for new people, although it would highlight what the current needs are as of the podcast date (all from an IG perspective, of course).
