It seems that the new images from the "missing USGX files" clearly points out that clovie was woken up at the drilling station. was the falling object on the ocean only a part of the chunks of material being shot up by the monster from the sinking chuau station?

Yeah i agree with this. So we can safely say that the monster was kind of.. woken up by the drilling station.

Rob and Beth's date and the object that fell from space both happened about a week before Chuai went down, so that was the extraterrestrial object, not debris from the station.

Distance

When the object, presumably the satellite, falls into the ocean, it is no more then a couple miles offshore and the object is not very large, especially since you can actually see the splash. If by chance this caused the awakening, birth, hatching, etc of the monster, then that would mean the it swam way out to sea first, quite a long way, then came back to the NY coastal area. That would also mean that the monster was initially in very shallow water as opposed to some deep trench or the like. Not that this answers any questions, just pointing out my observations.

i still more or less think that the satellite falling at the end of the film was honestly just a nod to the fans of the arg.

Or more likely, as Tag made a big deal about how they were working hard to recover the object, they were indeed first to it and took it to thier closest facility... Chuai station.

Clver didn't need to go anywhere when a mega-corporation is doing the legwork.

Ive always thought that. We gotta realise that the scene wasnt for showing us the satellite, but just to show us Beth & Rob had a "good day", that they love each other. The satellite isnt that important, a nod indeed.

Tom Cruise woke him up, everything is Tom's fault. Its a big conspiracy by the Church of Scientology to rid the world of all non believers so they can start over in a pure scientology world where Tom Cruise is overlord. Kinda like Battlefield Earth but without John Travolta ( hed be second in command of course) and without all the crappiness that was that movie.

Chuai set to open in September

Not that we can really depend on these dates from Tagruato, but since no one mentioned it earlier....

Chuai station was set to open on September 2007 as per Tagruato's site. So they would have been building it while the satellite fell.

If we can hit a satellite's gas tank in space going eleventy billion miles an hour, don't you think the U.S. Government would have destroyed it before it came anywhere near us?

Well i think the eleventy billion mph is a bit fast, more like 7,00o mph. im sure that was sarcasm anyways, but to shoot something down , we need a lil heads up . If it just fell and no one told the US about it, or they only picked it up on radar as it was reentering the atmosphere, thats too little time to track it and target it. Also, what i found funny, anything that small would totally burn up in reentry, unless it was in a very low orbit, more in subspace, then space

the interesting things i've always wondered, is that one entry on the tagruato site.

it directly references the chimpanzIII fragment falling... and how the satellite they had just launched with bold futura was going to be "actively searching for it for retrieval".

satellites break apart and re-enter the atmosphere constantly. it's really not that big of a deal.

so, what was the cover-up? what that a front for what they REALLY were looking for with their shiny new satellite, or was something about the chimpanzIII actually that important (like, a data log or something)?

The satellite was a toss in (For fans of the viral). It was probably added real late, seeing its a simple effect. It was a toss between a throw-off for non-viral fans ("oh god look there it is falling out of the sky!) when viral fans after seeing it re-read the viral and remembered the satellite story.

It still appears the monster was being held captive at the oil station, then broke loose. Look at the Chaui video again, does any oil rigg you know of out in the ocean have multiple GUNS designed to shoot downward into the water? I think not.

U gotta link u can hook us up with that shows Chuai equipped with guns pointed downward towards the ocean?? that would make your statement 1000 times more plauseable dude. Hook it up please??

Dude, I so saw the guns the other night when I was watching it on the DVD. I wasn't sure how to bring it up. I 100% agree with you! they are on all four sides of the rig, right?
