I don't think that we should elect definite leaders as of yet. We seem to be coping well as of now without a definite structure, why change? What good would it for us to have leaders?

I think we are fine as long as everyone is kept on the same page and working towards the same objective, which is to ensure BEX's survival.

I agree. The minute we start picking "leaders" is the minute we could really fracture the group.

I also agree that choosing leaders will create more problems than it could solve...

I think as long as everyone is on the same page and communicating as a team we should be ok. Maybe Doc is trying to create a situation that could divide us. If a group wants a "Lead" in the group and the other part of the group doesn't this could cause a bit of chaos.

Thanks for the desteg info - I must have missed it in one of the 12 dozen places info gets posted. Wink

I definitely agree that we don't really need a leader. What other ARG have you played that has had a definitive leader to it? I don't see why it would be neccessary at all.

Or he seems to think that our mob tactics aren't efficient enough to complete his tasks. Which hasn't proven true so far, but he probably has a better idea of what's to come than we do. We should ponder the idea objectively. Could we react better with a leader to organize? It's the same philosophy as having generals to an army, but it would only work as long as we respected the authority.

And I kind of disagree. I think certain players, namely Esteed if I had to just pick one, have been stand-out at guiding other players and keeping an overlying idea of what's going on. Just because we haven't had a vote about it doesn't mean that we don't have a leader.

Wanna *really* piss off the Doc? Pick ME as a leader! Twisted Evil

Actually, I'm not to keen on that idea myself either. He's dying to have us tear each other apart on our own.

I personally think that's why he mentioned it in the first place.

UPDATE

Seems like we will be given an "official" task soon.

Quote:
Soon you will be presented with an official introduction and a scavenger hunt of sorts. Let's see what you're made of.

This is the thread for working out your answers.

Everyone shares infor. freely and there is always someone to help out if someone has a question. Being a newby everyone has been very helpful. There are plenty of people that bring something to the table. How would you pick a "leader" with sooooo many people from soooo many different places in time and space-------

Picking a "leader" could destract us from helping out Bex. Just a thought.

Picking leaders is pointless as long as we're all working towards the same goal. We seem to be doing well enough for now, I agree that we should leave it as is. If we end up needing leaders later, we can easily select some. Until then, I think having a definite "leader" would create too much problem. After all, the leader can't be expected to function entirely by him/herself, so he/she would need an inner circle, thus creating a greater division among the playerbase. Which, unless I missed my guess, is exactly what Doc is trying to do.

Coffeebean, the bots cruise around specific websites gathering information that's used for search terms in their search engines.

ETA: It's interesting that the doc calls it the first official task. I guess the others were tests.

I will probably need to crash in a couple of hours. It's 0130 here. I do hope whatever Doc plans to do, he can do it soon. I have a feeling that this task will require quite a bit of man power.

Scavenger hunt? I am in. Laughing
